I want to copy and paste what you said about the Assassin's Creed female character design and historical period and whatnot, but I haven't done that yet, so I'm replying, in short, here:
My response to the idea of "women wearing trousers in periods where it was not the norm" is this:
LOL.
It's a choice. I think if AC creators can play fast and loose with some historical details--and I'm sure you know they have--the individual can choose trousers over skirts. So I've made my choice on that.

Agreed, I just prefer to create my characters more realistically, since original characters setting in existing universes are criticized a lot for not being accurate enough.Β
I just what to point out that Elise was a Templar so there was no need for her to HIDE (<<
To be honest I don't get what your getting at. A debate or suggestions? Β

What about the female assassin from Liberation, Aveline? I haven't played it, but I have it on my 360 hard drive.
And I didn't mean to imply debate. I was just commenting on my opinions. I just don't agree on that one point. I very much appreciate the suggestions.

I haven't played Liberation either, but this is what I can see from her outfits:Β
(this link is the outfits of Aveline)Β assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/β¦
From my observation, Aveline avoids exposing her face when she wears pants.Β
In other outfits, which she does not expose her identity as an assassin, her face or gender is obvious.Β
If you have seen my OFC based on AC2, you would've notice that her clothes does not hide her feminine features.
I'm just saying these because OFCs are flamed a lot, and I would like to stick close to the original settings of the game.Β
Clearly, you had already made up your mind about your character. I'm just clarifying my points, no need to disagree.Β
And thank you for commenting, I didn't expect people to pick out these things.Β Β

I totally get it! And to an extent, I think that's an awesome mechanic: a female assassin being affected by what she wears in a certain time period: either she is freely able to move and fight, but is notoriously seen almost right away, so in full 18th Century woman's dress she can go unseen but not do much. That's so true: I've seen those outfits, and at best you could only shank a guy lol. Sashay over and hidden blade in the back.
I toyed with the idea of designing her and THEN making a version where her breasts are taped down and some clothing choices to hide her hips. There are several stories of women pretending to be soldiers in The American Civil War, and I guess they pretty much did that very thing, perhaps even wearing false facial hair. They often went to war with their husbands or boyfriends. Btw, I am in full support of women who want to fight in the military; it's a personal choice. But back then, you had to hide it.
But in terms of a game--if we were to pretend this is a real game--I am not sure that would be accepted by Ubisoft. They'd be too afraid it wouldn't sell. I personally think it would be a lovely change that would still fit with historical norms. Either do what they did with Aveline or do what I suggested, or a combo of both.

I've been playing Unity and was thinking about what you'd said and had a minor epiphany, "wait a minute, what about Elise?!? Wasn't she wearing trousers?" lol
