I'm not sure you've read it yet, but my Ayralef story that I'm writing is more or less Kain trying to keep his own tools out of enemy hands. Whether or not it escalates is up to you, but if you want to know what's gonna happen I can note you after you read part 1.

Yeah, I mean Ive been trying to inspire more people to jump into Ayralef for over a year now.

I think the reason for that is that Felarya is more of an open world where no big events are happening, thus anyone can come in with their small scale events. A big event like a world war kind of overshadows everything else, making people feel obligated to make something that goes along with the big event.

Yeah, but the story doesn't have to be current. Ayralef has a ton of historical periods that would have been interesting to create characters and stories for. And even if you want to stay in the present, you can still create small-scale stories that represent a slice of modern Sagolian life. I haven't even gone into any detail about half of Ur-Sagol's cities or regions. Most of it is a blank slate waiting to be filled in by somebody. And then there's the world at large, beyond Ur-Sagol's borders.Β
Calling Ayralef "limited" is, IMO, a failure of imagination.

What program/website do you use and how do you get/make the blanks? I love your work! Keep it up!

Much of the card is done by Magic Set Editor 3.8. It's easy enough to find through google, and it's free and quick to download. MSE pretty much does most of the work for you and makes making fake cards quick and simple. It's so easy you literally don't need directions. You can figure it all out just by experimenting.
Note: certain card skins need to be downloaded independently, but the base program comes with all of the simple skins. In addition to Magic, you can also do YuGiOh and Vanguard cards. I'm not into those myself, but it's an option that comes with the program.
For the set symbol, I just used Photoshop to splice it onto the image myself. This is because MSE simply plants a blank square in the set symbol area and doesn't give you a choice to alter it.
