Heya Yoli! it's been a long time since I dropped in on the Imps Village forums, now that I think of it... I wonder what the state of the game is nowadays (I fully imagine Dofus is hideous by now). Guess you caught me in the visitors log

Japan was awesome! It's like seeing England, but about 20 years in the future; in Tokyo, there's skyscrapers all the way to the horizon in all directions, and trains that come every two minutes with no delay - with the carriages arriving to the centimetre of where they are marked on the platforms. Vending machines on every street corner, even in Kyoto; there were nine vending machines in a row in Akihabara. The weather was t-shirt weather at all times of day and night, for two weeks. Everyone does their best to understand you and take time with you (unlike in Europe where a lot of people will just try to shake you off as soon as they can manage), and everyone was so helpful and nice. Restaurant meals cost half or a third of what they cost in England, so we really went to town, and hotels are similarly cheap as well. I got stacks of manga ( i.imgur.com/BFCbVeG.jpg ) - Thermae Romae was particularly good.

Wow that sounds super awesome! I wasn't expecting cost of food and hotel to be cheap, maybe I should start saving up for my trip haha. *A*; Do you know a lot of Japanese? Also nice manga collection, a lot of those titles I really enjoyed too. :'D
Studio arts taught us contemporary art concepts and assigned us really huge projects. It's unlike anything I draw/post on dA now or the graphic work I do (which is more marketing and user interface related; I do mobile apps now). Still a worthwhile experience though.

Definitely worth going once, for sure. I know enough Japanese for daily conversation and to read manga, but I'm a long way off business level. Last week I had some Japanese guys round and they were amazed at our zebra crossings where pedestrians have right of way without pushing a button, and at our house doors that don't slam-lock. We also had some fun when they got IDed buying beer because their ID lists their birthdate by the Showa calendar, so it showed 'year 63 of the era' or something for a 1987 birth, making the IDs look completely fake. Glad you approve of the manga collection :]
I see, sounds a bit like our Design Technology (though that was just at school, not a degree course). It's weird to think of you doing interface graphics when all I see on this end is soft-rendered manga, haha.
