As I suspected, the young photographer of the year winner sucked majorly, but second place was good and third place was alright. [link] Thats the winner, see what you think but I certainly don't think it should've come first.

hmm she was ok, better than average, the comp could be better in the rose water one tho it's a nice concept but it's been done before. Her f-stop in the portrait is too big a lot of the time, creating a large DOF i thought imho. The second winner only shot appealing to me was the optician one, but I've seen that done so many times, and the third one didnt seem to have many shots so I wonder if those were flukes on his automatic settings.

I am annoyed at the 15-17y/o winner though because there would've been hundreds of photos better than hers, I was very unimpressed with her picture to be honest but hey that's just the way it goes.

it's ok I really liked it, under hard conditions got great lighting and isn't noisy and no motion blur or camera movement.

That's awesome!. Actually, me and my partner will be attempting more of that - glamour/fashion - on a shoot this Sunday. ...Only with our el cheapo (but still rather effective) sheet against the wall, haha. Can't afford the hardcore system at the moment xD. Can't wait to see what you produce!.

Haha the shoot this weekend I dont have the reflectors or flash yet, I'll be just using the built in flash for fill in and do it on location. You have a sheet?

haha merly just the work of foolishness. . . capable of much more....just no time, and most of the time have not got the correct tools(eg a DSLR),sad but thats life.
