Well, I'm a big fan of Jerry Jewell, so I found them through him. Listened to a few of the preview songs on their site and thought, "I need to get this CD now~" And so my dad got it for me for my birthday. :> I have both of their CDs now, both signed by Jerry Jewell. Ilove'em~

1)Not accepting because it's non-canon casual? I'm sorry, but that's a very stupid reason to not accept a picture - and cosplay - that a lot of effort was put into. And altogether a very stupid rule.

2)It taking up to a week to accept deviations. The club won't last long if you do that, and frankly I don't wanna wait that long for an update and then get flooded with pics.

I'm sorry, but if you wanna run a group successfully, you need to look over your rules again and definitely get some help to accept submissions faster.

Hello, midear~ Hetalia-Cosplay moderator #2 reporting in. ^^

My internet was down for the past month, so I had very limited access. KaitoAri had to juggle with everything this entire month.

1) Non-canon is fine. We will accept non-canon outfits, as long as we have at least 3 reference photos that fully portray their respectful countries. That said, we strongly encourage unique original designs and outfits, as long as it clearly supports said character.

"And altogether a very stupid rule." We can understand your frustration, but using such adjectives isn't going to solve anything, nor is it necessary.

We accept non-canon. We even have a folder for non-canon. It's the casual cosplay that we have a problem with. Casual cosplay is fine. We see nothing wrong with casual cosplay. The reason we do not accept casual cosplay in our cosplay gallery is because we are trying to emphasize the cosplay bit. In our rules, we have stated that we are looking for showcase cosplays...mainly official outfits, and traditionally accurate outfit designs.

2) I apologize for the delay. I take full responsibility for the late feedback. With all the sickness, moving, and dying family member...I've been rather hectic. I realize these are all excuses to you, even if I don't mean to sound that way. My point is, KaitoAri has been handling this group all on her own for the pass month. And as she has already stated, a 3rd moderator is in the works.

Thank you for your concerns, but the group has been doing well so far, and quite frankly, we plan on keeping these rules, perhaps even adding more if necessary. ^^

For the first, if it's a random tshirt/button up shirt, honestly how is that cosplay? While it's fine to play around in (I wouldn't want to get sand on a full costume to be sure) #Hetalia-cosplay, as stated, is a showcase for your best work. I think both of us can agree that the picture submitted was not. I hate to put it like this, but how was a lot of effort put into that picture as compared to what actually makes it into the gallery? Be frank with me: is it "better" to have to sift through 30 pictures of people in indiscriminate t-shirts before you get to one picture of someone in actual cosplay? That'd defeat the purpose of the group.

In large, everyone is very satisfied with this rule as no one wants to be flooded with tons of submissions that, frankly, aren't really cosplay. :\
There are more open Hetalia groups that also accept cosplay so do feel free to submit there.

As far as the week goes, in general as long as they are eventually accepted no one else seems to have a voicable problem with the system because they know it results in a higher quality gallery. The club is growing exponentially and, to date, this is the first general complaint I've heard. With the new stack system on DA it seems better to get more at once anyway and it's not like the other Hetalia groups that get 100+ new accepted deviations a day. Here you'll get maybe 50-75 a week and comparatively, I can hardly call tht flooding.
But a bit of a plus side, while the rules are staying as is, a new mod is in fact on the way.

I know you're pissed that your entry was denied but do try to see that in the overall scheme of things it's much better off this way.

A lot of effort did go into that picture and that whole photoshoot, for your information. Don't say it didn't when you don't even know what had to be done to get it.

And I've seen many good non-canon cosplays, whether they be OCs, AUs, or a version from a fan art they liked. It's not fair to not accept them when a lot of effort was put into them. Hell, some even make stuff from scratch for them! You can hardly call that a "closet cosplay."

There's too much, then there's too little. And obviously 50-75 deviations a week is too little. Let's take my situation as an example. I waited days for my entry to be looked at, then I come to find out it was denied. So I wasted all that time waiting and not submitting anything else just to have it not in the gallery. Plus with your group moving slower people might even forget you're there. I know I did. And once I realized "Oh, yeah, I never left that group..." I went and did so.

But, then again, I'm the type who checks my dA every day and hates when people complain about floods of pictures. Floods being "OMG, I has 70 pics from one group! I only haven't checked my dA in 3 days! D:" It's a group, people should expect flooding.

TL;DR
You suck, your rules suck, overall you need to rethink everything.
