I like to take a more pessimistic view of things, that way when I see a 15 year old drawing super realistic fabulous drawings I don't feel terrible about myself because I've already accepted that I'm shit.

oh ok, I sort of get ya. You don't look at all terrible to me though. And honestly this might just be my personal opinion, but I don't think age matters that much in drawing as long as you have an end product.

I've noticed that it's when people are in the young (14-20 ish) region that they tend to hit a sharp spot and suddenly start drawing really well. But I think when exactly it happens has to do with how early you start practicing and how long you've experimented for (as opposed to like absolute age), and afterwards people generally plateau, i.e. any further improvements are very difficult and incremental.     

Sorry for rambling. I guess my point is: if I were you I wouldn't worry about age, because no matter how early someone gets good at art, it's the long period of nurturing and improvement afterwards that really matters (imo).
