Yes, bad ending... can't understand it... there would have been material for another 100 chapter only to fill the plotholes.. so much wasted potential!
(and yes... it started to get worse since some time before the end...)

Excellent! I ask because I see the pilot as an alternative to the canon, a universe waiting to be expanded by fanart and fanfiction. In fact, I've started my own expansion. Would you like to know more?

Yes, it was an interessant version, much potential there...

Well, I think that the founders could easily be featured in a pilotverse. In fact, I have a pilot version of the Uchiha planned, among other things... ^^

Yes, I am familiar with 's masterpiece ^^ In fact, she too has embraced the Way of the Pilot AND has said that my pilot version of Kaguya is more plausible and glorious than her canonical self...

Sorry, had a complete computer braekdown... took 2 weeks to get it back running!!!

Will start reading yor fanfic some of this days! (Have to sort some things out first... not having a pc for 2 week left a lot of things unattended! ... ps, sorry for my very bad english today... lost the habit over that long time )

My headcannon? 
Lol, i have a lot!
Starting from alternative ending...  alternatives to get the ctual ending working... my own never ended fanfic, and of course fireeaglespirit's discontinued fic!
For that i mostly tryied to envision how could go on...
... even have a naruto wild west headcannon...  Lol!

Sorry to hear you've had computer troubles Once you've got everything sorted out, here 's my pilotverse expansion (and essentially my rewrite of Naruto), and my pilot take on Kaguya and Hagoromo's time, which thoroughly enjoyed ^^

I also have a 100 Themes series, a look at why/how I do what I do, re-imagined canonical clans , and my OC clans ^^

I continue where starts, with the (named) uzumakis as kitsune^^
And the uchiha as tengu. ( i'm not very versed in japanese mytology.. so lets call them tengu, but i don't really follow the actual description...)
I like to imagine them more like hawks than crows... 
They can transform in different stages, from black hawks to almost human, but mostly holding an in-between form, like in the pictures i linked some time back...
For the character... typical uchiha... on one side good at heart, but very protective and vindictive of what is theires... ho, and they have a very dark sense of humor! (see madara)
Like on canon they have a long feud with the senju(human), for hunting them and other demons for sport and trophys (i tend to put tobirama as chief of the senju... hashirama is there but simply don't fits the role)
In the story the most recent losses are itachi and shizui (and izuna of course!)
And with that the uzomaki come in contact with the tengu, mito beging captured by the senju (hashirama not wanting to kill her) and escaping with the attacking uchihas...

I must say i didn't expand much after that...  or better, my toughs ran wild
But, actually writing about it... i'm starting to continue it!  Lol!
Have to go now (work) ill sort out in my head and continue tomorrow!

Ah. Well, tengu were originally avian creatures, so they could easily have been hawks as well as corvids ^^

In my 'verse, it's the Hyūga the Uchiha are related to, both having split from the Hagoromo clan, named after Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki himself. This is something alluded to at the end of Thread of the Feathered Robe and which I'll expand in an upcoming story, Birds of a Feathered Robe.
