Have you ever read the original Bambi books? I read the first one...but I just never got my hands on the sequel.Β
Kind of wish Disney kept some things, not everything of course, but some of them.

I have not been able to get the original book but I do have an audiobook (abridged unfortunately) of the novel. I found it quite beautiful and wish they had kept in the character of Faline's brother Gobo as I found him both beautiful and heartbreaking

I really like the way you've thought things out, you've approached it very scientifically and done a fantastic analysis!

I was looking at your Manticore pictures once more and I have a question. Although it's highly unlikely, can there be survivors of the poison that comes from the tail spikes? And if so what effects does the poison have?

LeeDassin In reply to KalahariMeerkatfan [2013-08-11 06:41:01 +0000 UTC]
The poisons itself is not deadly in small doses, it carries a paralytic substance that causes the area hit to become paralyzed and loose feeling. The idea is once the prey cannot move the Manticore can attack and kill its prey. If the victim is hit with too many quills the poison may be enough to stop the heart but this is rare. If a person managed to escape the Manticore without too many quills then the poisons effects depend on the amount they received. If they only got one or two small quills then the effects of the paralysis would leave after a few hours but feeling may take a day or two to return. But if they go too much into their systems it would take longer to be able to use the limb properly again. Some areas where the quills hit may never gain feeling back again.
