Thanks, my ego swells to new heights! Soon I shall crawl out of the abyss that is study-hell and maybe make something cool (or hot, I guess).

I'm decent at the frontal pose after a little practice, pay close attention to what the great mech artists do, and especially to things like center of gravity, which leg might have more pressure on it and how even a simple pose can look more dynamic and less stiff. For simple poses it's the small details that does it (legs, shoulders or even how arms are bent).

I'm not exactly great on doing more squarish mecha stuff (been too lazy on the perspective/foreshortening side), blockish mechs needs solid linework to not look wonkish.

Getting some gunpla for posing experimentation and aid in proportions, shading etc an even better idea. Remember that mechs don't have to follow human proportions and features, but they still need to be consistent with themselves and follow some form of logic/functionality.

That's about it, I'm by no means an expert on this stuff but with just a little practice and good references you can get pretty far.
