There are only two drawings that I feel I have a right to be angry with. I am a fair person, and I do feel that unless the concept, image, or character is copied so that viewers are 99% sure that it is a copy job nothing should be said.
There are two drawings here that I have problems with and I have voiced my opinion about both. The first one is one that you copied the concept from in real life. I don't really care that you might have been inspired from a Manga, because you drew in only AFTER you saw me doing the same thing. The Ravens are also positioned in many of the same points the Januses are on mine. Yet again, I wouldn't mind you doing your version of it if you had asked me first.
The second is that Kelly on the roomates looks just like Morgan, my irish setter mix character which, again, you know from real life and not the internet. That is DEFINITELY not cool and you should have edited your description under the image to include something about that similarity. If you draw the character looking exactly like that again, I WILL lose respect for you...you had to know you were doing it whey you were because it is very very obvious and you even drew the character for an art trade once.
Nobody is completely original, I understand that, and people here are not expecting that you have a completely original style, but if something is inspired to the point of being uncannily similar, you need to start giving credit in your descriptions. If I have found that one of my pieces is too similar to someone else's, I have at least mentioned them in my description (example of this is Missing Janus). Where I have done gift art, I have informed the person of my using their character. Welcome to the world of showing your work publically. This is a wonderful chance to grow both with your style and your manner because it requires you to act as professionally as possible.

Just out of curiousity, what have I done to deserve the painful sting *rolls eyes* of your comment? I have not verbally abused Lenore and have informed my friends that she has done the right thing and to stop leaving bad commentary on her page unless she does something that is BEGGING for criticism. She did the right, artistically respectful thing, and I have said that I respect her for it. Now, Little Pup, go chase your tail...I can see that you are already very talented at it.

I was going to just not reply to this and let that be that, and I am not replying to you out of anger or petty argument, but I will say that the best way to not care is to say nothing at all. I don't have to defend anything I have said so I won't, but I will say the artist that cannot take criticism is childish, and if you cared about her artwork, you would realized that and watch what you say a little more closely.

1. this is not YOUR site, deviant art has RULES that let you upload here. you are breaking those rules.
2. even if this stuff WERE on your own site, what you are doing is called copyright infringement, trust me, i know the laws, ive read them and ive seen your copied pieces that you claim the copyrights too, they are illegal.
3. this is just RUDE. if robin is really your "friend" you wouldnt steal from her. you could see how hard she works on her art and know that its wrong for you to take advantage of her hard work. what kind of friend does that??
im sorry but you really do need to take those pics down, if robin doesnt report you to the admin, or several other artists who seem to have noticed your theft, then i will.

Iβm very angered that you have not yet removed certain pictures from your gallery that are clearly copied from Robinβs work without her permission. She has even stated herself that sheβs fed up with it, and even asked you politely on one of your pieces to give credit where itβs due. So would you PLEASE remove those pieces before I report to the DA admins with proof of your theft. You may respond with any insult or whatever sly remark you can think of. But it makes no difference to how the admins will respond to your gallery and immaturity to fess up to your ways. I only hold the basic power anyone does in this site, but I wont sit by and watch you mindlessly copy artwork and attack everyone for calling you on your faults. So do us all a favor and remove what artwork is obviously copied, or atleast give her decent credit from what you copied. And excuse me for being "crass" but you can only talk so much to cover your pride until something id finally done. so please learn from this before life teaches you the hard way.

Interesting... if you tilt your head and squint your eyes a little.
It's interesting that your style goes for half-bad anime to this black and white, realistic, anatomically correct drawing. Being that you're removed from any familaiarities puts you in the fabulous position of not having anyone call you on your shit. That is... I'm sure as an artist you are progressing, but mainly in the ways of being a better cheater.
In the process of learning art Michelangelo says to copy those one thinks as being great to further yourself. However, this is called apprenticing under an artist, and whatever the apprentice turns out is given the signature of the master. This way, the apprentices aren't stealing the master's style, ideas, or work. The apprentice continues to do this until the master believes that they have established themselves outside of himself, and they begin to turn out their own works and gain their own signature. Now I understand copying other works to learn and that's all hunky dorry... but you forgot one thing...
You're not suppose to still be using tracing paper after two weeks! It's suppose to sink in and you're suppose to understand, move on, and draw on your fucking own. Try it sometime. OHH!!! It's hard, isn't it? Yeah, but that's how it's done. Quit being after of the pen and paper and strike out ON YOUR OWN. Look at something from real life, not previously made drawing.
My harsh opinion will change when the sneaking suspicion that you're regurgitating something does.

If you read my description on most my work I tell you "artistic" people If I was Inspired by any other artists work or If I posted a Class assignment From my ART COLLEGE that I go to Im showing my progress of the varieties I am learning .I didnt say I created those pieces! I said this was a classwork assignment!!!!!!! YOU CRITICAL PRICKS quit jumping my ass on things that arent based on fact, and If Im not mistaken you are a writer(you know who you are AGAIN I am stressing...you STARTED IT....I just merely F***in FINISH IT!!!!!) Why your artwork isn't orginal--
1. Shadow Raine has personally left commentary on you plagerizing her ideas, which you have openly admitted to on her boards.
2. Outside influence rules whatever artwork you do. It seems it only takes someone's artwork you admire for you to rip it off.
Why did I post such a harsh comment? I post harsh comments for people who openly plagerize, and deserve the scolding. Whether you want to hear it or not, you deserve to be yelled at for talking what is not your's and not giving the original creator credit.
If the art is from a class assignment, naming whose artwork/style you are learning is still very necessary. You *are* claiming it is your work. You're saying... look at this concept I developed in class. You are *not* saying... look at this abstract concept we had to base on Salvador Dali. You are only giving yourself credit, which is wrong.
As far as shutting my mouth "B-4" I piss you off, I'm not particularly shaken that you're displeased with me. Again, when someone takes the work or ideas of another, they deserve harsh words. I don't care if you can only draw on the level of a two year-old, you study another artist, learn from them, and move on to applying it yourself, FREEHAND.
Understand that my commentary has nothing to do with your style choice. I do not feel that furry art is inferior-- that is not the issue here.
I don't do research to see if I can spot cheap copy-jobs like you, I do research because art is a large part of my life, and studying it is just a side note to understanding it. In doing art you are put in a position to know it, and the accomplished artists before you. In studying one learns *how* to accomplish a certain technique, or manner of drawing something. This is learning, understanding it and using it. When you copy a piece of art, you cheat yourself out of actually understanding it, and properly manipulating it. Which, by the way, is why many of your piece appear awkward in their anatomy. You memorized certain positions from previous drawings and it's a matter of cut-and-paste in your head. If you actually understood your artwork would be vastly improved. Look at a live model when you draw, and the small, life-liek details will come forward. Even in furry art, a study of dogs or humans is necessary.
How do you know my artwork isn't a copy? Fine, I'll accept that challenge and here is my rebuttle. I am currently doing a floral piece of some bushes outside in my yard. The location is unique, it is my home. The composition is of my chosing. The color system is impressionistic. That is one method of not copying someone else. I don't feel I need to justify any more of myself to you.
If so many people are so hard on your artwork, could that perhaps mean something? Granted, you're not suppose to let the popular mass dictate how you think and feel about yourself, but this situation is unique. Many are complaining about your plagerism-- could so many be wrong? I know this is bothering you and hurting your feelings, but realize you ask for it when you start stealing the concepts of your friends on deviant art for yourself. When your art suddenly changed to a fairly good, anatomically correct chalk piece, it is PAINFULLY apparent that the concept and style is not your own. Who was the original artist? Why aren't they getting credit?
I'm not downplaying a variety of style use-- infact, I think it a strength. With you, however, I don't believe you're honest about it. Your style in what pieces I believe are original, isn't highly developed. I'm sorry that my knowledge of art makes me able to call you out on your shit, but that's life. Get over yourself and make an honest effort. No idea can be 100% original, but art is a reflection of oneself (I don't care what anyone says, it is). In using what is anothers, you're obscuring your personality and who you are from the work. Why do it at all if it isn't you... and you being the unique factor, and the only factor, which can separate you from others.
Take it easy. Think about it.
