# About me
I was raised by loving parents with strong artistic talents in music, fine art, wood work and crafts. I started my life in California, then moved with my family to Florida where I went to school strongly leaning towards the arts. I've had a steady job since I was fourteen. Starting in the restraunt industry washing dishes, I very quickly moved up the ladder to cook, and further to fine dining positions with great responsibilities. After a major hurricane destroyed my place of employment I did some salvage work for the restaurant, friends and neighbors. I then helped one of my chefs and mentors open his own restaurant. As a show of gratitude and faith in my art, my chef offered to host a private showing of my work. During this show I sold a large portion of my life's work to raise money to move to Oregon. Unfortunately most of my records of that work is lost, as my camera and bag containing the film with photos of it was stolen from that very art show. After moving to Oregon I attended the University of Oregon where I earned my BFA in fine art, with a minor in psychology. I have worked with a wide range of mediums, woodwork, clay, found object sculpture, fibers (weaving, sewing, embroidery,) painting (Acrylic, oil, watercolor, natural staining liquids, ie pomegranate juice,) fine art drawing, illustrations of different styles, paper craft (ie. Book binding, fine cutting, collage, ). I am hoping to use this platform to help share my work and potential with other artists, but more importantly with possible employers. I have unfortunately had obstacles that have made it difficult to participate in internships, which in turn makes it difficult to gain access to certain opportunities in the art world. To help sustain life through college, and currently while exploring my life options, I manage and bartend. I have all of the responsibilities of running a bar (complete with lottery machines, and a staff to train and manage) I am an important part of event planning, including an annual charity event that I initiated that raises money for charities in my community. I have excellent interpersonal, and organizational skills that I think can add to any environment, and I'm hoping that environment provides an opportunity to be creative. I am married, and while I enjoy children and have a lot of experience with them, I have none of my own. I am not only exploring my career options, but also my where my husband and I would like to live and I'm open to moving to a new place. Thanks for reading, and to those artists out there, thanks for sharing.# Comments
