Short form: It appears that the scientists quoted by the IPCC in climate-change have been fudging the numbers, preventing other researches from being peer-reviewed, destroyed data rather than share it so the results could be verified, and so on, and so forth. Several other groups around the globe have now been found to be doing the same thing. Many of them- including Michael Mann, who created the 'hockey stick'- have actually inverted data to hide things like the Mideival Warm Period, to make it look like the Earth has never been as warm as it is today, when in fact the last two warming periods of the last 2000 years have both been warmer than it is now.
