I like stuff... :p

Mostly Science Fiction, for some reason. My fave sci-fi universes are Alien, Predator, Star Trek (including the new Abrams movie), some Star Wars (mostly the older films and the Clone Wars series and Transformers. Though my interests are pretty broad: cartoons (Avengers, Justice League, GI Joe), history and historical fiction to name a few.

More importantly... I'm here to learn new methods and techniques to apply to my art, see some fantastic works (and pretend my eyes never viewed the horrors! lol) and post some pictures and photo edits.

I used to do mostly traditional art, and still do some, but mostly now I've branched into digital, specifically colouring line art at this time. I've been trying to improve on colouring sequentials, and I appreciate critique and advice on whatever I post. :)

I really appreciate the faves and so on. I don't always post a thank-you for "stuff" so I don't "spam up" people's profiles, if there's a big long list of un-replied-to thanks in your notes or if they all have the exact same reply, I may not say anything... but know that I appreciate it! Don't feel that you have to thank me for llamas and faves and so on. Though I try to respond to comments. :)

Personal Quote: I will not censor myself for the comfort of someone's prejudice.

My pleasure!Β  I love photography, need to travel vicariously and always wanted to learn to play the violin!Β  I have family in Germany, but I've never been...

Oh, that's interesting! Are those immigrants or are you one in your country? (if I may ask )

No problem!Β  My family in Germany are German (Bavarian).
My immediate family (mom's side) here (Canada) are from Germany, they came between WWI and II, and on the other side, they're from Trinidad (originally from India).

So you are way more German than me

LisaSky-Art In reply to BenniArt [2014-06-09 18:54:56 +0000 UTC]

Yes... half German is more German than 100% Russian...
Why did your family move?Β  Germany has winter too...

Cool! Β  I hope I get to go to Germany soon... so much to see there!
I'm familiar with Moscow (a little) because I have a few students from there... this is the first time I've heard of Perm though.Β  To Wikipedia!!Β

Germany is great, you really should visit it

Maaaaybe I will!Β  What should I visit off the beaten path?!!!

BenniArt In reply to LisaSky-Art [2014-06-16 12:49:35 +0000 UTC]

It would be a good thing to start with Hannover is beautiful, no matter if you visit the tourists places or simply go through that city

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LisaSky-Art In reply to BenniArt [2014-06-17 22:30:54 +0000 UTC]

Never thought of that!Β  Great idea. That must be where Hanoverian horses come from!Β
I want to see awesome things - old architecture etc. that locals know about, not always popular tourist destinations.

Like in France *everyone* goes to the Eiffel Tower... but there must be a trove of other things on the roads less travelled...

Have you ever been to Europe? If not you should go there without a guide and just run around like a mad person looking around and getting an impression of...well, everything \_( Β ^-^)_/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LisaSky-Art In reply to BenniArt [2014-06-23 00:26:02 +0000 UTC]

Just once, to England...Β
I have heard of people doing what you suggest, backpacking across Europe and such.Β  I'm mildly concerned I'd be murdered if I tried it though... while taking pictures of a spider, no doubt!Β  XD

My parents weren't big on travelling once I was old enough that I would've enjoyed it, so I have no practice and don't know where to start.Β  Except England was pretty awesome.Β

OOOOOO!!!Β  What is winter like in Germany?Β  Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BenniArt In reply to LisaSky-Art [2014-06-24 19:38:32 +0000 UTC]

Oh, it depends. If you are in the north it is pretty cold for European standards, something about -15Β°C - -20Β°C, and there isn't a lot of snow in the cities, but it is very beautiful

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LisaSky-Art In reply to BenniArt [2014-06-25 19:46:11 +0000 UTC]

Cuz that would be the "off" season - and beautiful - and it beats the -35 or worse in Canada!!!Β

I did forget... Β Β  All that talk about Germany!Β
I randomly saw Russians today in a park...Β  I think!Β

BenniArt In reply to LisaSky-Art [2014-06-30 11:41:57 +0000 UTC]

Really? How did those looked like?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LisaSky-Art In reply to BenniArt [2014-06-30 22:25:32 +0000 UTC]

That's actually kinda funny... since you asked...
The man and the young boy could've been the photos in the dictionary for "Russian man" and "Russian boy" - if there is such a thing.
Then there were 2 little blond children (able to walk, and speak a bit - it was adorable to hear!), a young girl or two, and a reasonably young, short, heavy, blonde woman (though 1 of my Russian students says Russians are *not* blonde; another said: of course we're blonde.Β  Slavs are blonde! ).
But... lastly there was another woman, I think the little kids' mother.Β  She was the opposite to the other adult woman: older, taller, with strange purple-red hair... and a fake chest.

So all the looks of Russia in one group at the park!Β

Yes.... about 1K trees down and 35 hours with out power for me... others may not have power until Tues-Thurs.

Crazy... it's not like we had a week's warning that the storm was coming - stations ran out of gas, stores were emptied, people fought over stuff... O.O

The feeling after getting yelled at by people whom you pay for a service... or the desire to have gotten better shots.Β  Because I'm pretty proud of myself for not telling off the power commission workers...

It is part of the reason I'm afraid (not badly ) to go to places Russia, Italy or Spain... friends who have visited those places say they've been yelled at for simple things, like asking for directions and not being understood right away...Β  I'd get so lost!Β  At least Saint Petersburg has signage in English...Β

I thought this was funny: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRIsC7…
