# About me
My passion as a child was books, and every weekend I would spend what little pocket money I had on paper so I could write stories. After a while I decided that these little stories needed pictures, so I decided to give it a go myself.I don't consider myself an artist. I don't "feel" it like others do, I don't consider it my calling and I certainly don't consider myself being any good at it. I merely try and illustrate some of my ideas.
Like music, art can express ideas without the restrictions of translation which can come with words; without language restrictions, it has the opportunity to spread some message equally in the Western world as the Eastern. It's interpretation is entirely yours; there is literally no need to spell things out.
I like that.
Most of my doodles have sexual undertones, and a couple of them, overtones. Sexuality is a powerful thing and expressing it entirely can lead to problems and misunderstanding as most sexuality requires other people to be a part of it, one way or another. I tend to draw that which is mine entirely, and if it touches others in any way, good or bad, then I can take that as some semblance of success in my expression. The hardest thing with rendering an image is that by nature it simplifies and objectifies it subject. The tricky part is to try and convey something MORE than an image- an idea, which hopefully will counterbalance any apparent objectification caused by a two dimensional image. THIS is what interests me with art. To tell a fully fleshed story with a few lines and colours.
I'm not sure I have succeeded there, but I try.
But I never said I was an artist.
