Good to hear you are doing well. Best wishes to you and your family
I have always found an interest in Calligraphy and was disapointed when I found out there is no Greek calligraphy. Now, my interest was not in normal calligraphy, where it's basically normal writing just more "stylistic". I was drawn more to it's creative aspect, much like arabic calligraphy. So I started studying how the Arabic is "played around" with...the stretching, manipulating etc. Not to mimick it. I have no resources for such calligraphy in Greek, thus I am forced to resort to Arabic or anything else I can find. The good thing with this is that I am free to improvise all I want. It's quite fun actually. At the moment I am still earning and do it as a hobby, but I plan on developing it as a proffesion.

My name is Gina.
Arabic is nice, it flows smoothly and so easy to use in Calligraphy, Greek is more challenging xD but no less fun
Thank you very much.
God bless,

Thank you
I don't know arabic. I can recognise some letters when i see them, but that's about it.
Yes, Greek is very very old. Although it has changed over time, from Ancient to modern Greek. a modern Greek can still read and understand Ancient Greek to a relatively adequet level without much difficulty. For example, I have not learned Ancient Greek, but the New Testament I have is in Ancient Greek and i can read it, while slowly and with some effort, quite well. It's also relatively similar to arabic in the sense that, just as you have genders for your words, so do we. And we also use 'the' a lot.
A lot of Greek letters resemble some of the Arabic letters, and so out of lack of resources I often hunt down Arabic Calligraphy which contains those letters to see how they are used and shaped in regard to the letters around them. It has helped a lot. A good example is the letter lambda 'Ξ»'.
I don't really want to learn arabic just yet, because if I learn the language I will be able to read the calligraphy rather than see it's shape. Which is the problem of my Calligraphy because since I make it I can read it and so cannot tell how good it looks as an image. To a person who while Greek, hasn't made it and therefore can't read it easily he/she will see the image and can tell me what it looks like. Hopefully in time though I will learn Arabic.

I can recognice what I think is an Alif infornt. I can't recognise the rest. Although I have a feeling the letter in the middle that resembles the Alif is the arabic 'L'. I am most probably wrong though xD

you are right about Alif. and 2nd letter is Hay (H in english), 3rd letter is Bay, (B in english) and last is Kaaf, and it looks a bit like L but it is acually K, this whole word is pronounced as Ahebak, or Ahebek... or Ehebek... in arabic. that means I LOVE YOU that's the beauty i like in arabic...
