Yeah. It's good. Sure it is. But I should be beyond it now, and I'm not...I don't know why nobody can let themselves go around me....I make everyone uncomfortable. That's not good for a photographer...especially portrait. It's ironic; I used to do just cityscapes, pictures of abandoned warehouses, old stores I remember from Paterson, things like that. Then for my 15th birthday, my uncle took me to a Diane Arbus exhibit, and I knew that even if I integrated those same environments, portrait was my calling. She's so known for photographing the outsider, people most of us wouldn't even look at twice, forget make art from. Somehow she was able to get them to trust in her willingness to understand. You can embrace a subject all you want, but if they don't reach back, it shows. That's why I only on location work; studios are just too...sterile. Artistic rant aside, it gets old feeling like a freak. So I look at her work and just think here's someone who was willing to see that these people and all people were are and will be beautiful and she was brave enough to record that without being self-righteous and saying all "I'M AN ARTIST LOOK WHAT I BROUGHT OUT OF THEM YAY ME". No that wasn't it was for her. She thought she owed her even being an artist to her subject. Realizing that there was SOMEONE alive with that sort of perspective makes me feel better, even if it's just a little. It gives me hope that there's love for me somewhere. I know that made no sense, but I just had to say it.
