# About me

My mom likes to say that she always knew I'd be an artist. While I love making art, it always bothers me when she says that. I'm more than just an "artist," and perhaps I'm afraid of being labeled as someone who was no good at school (because it's the complete opposite!). This is the force that drives me, though, to make myself stand out from other artists and define myself as a whole. I try to make things that have personal value, make others happy, and send a message, even if it's something simple.

Next year I will officially be a Film/Video/Animation student at RISD (though I obviously don't limit myself to that in my work) and it is my goal to communicate and connect with people around the world through my work.

First I took a picture of myself. Then, I sketched a girl in the same pose, colored it in photoshop, and just put that on a separate layer over the picture (also in photoshop). Ta-da! Simple as that. (I want to do a better one, with a more accurate sketch)
