Ey! Ey you! I was just going through my folder of inspiration/reference art, and stumbled across this ol' piece: merrii.deviantart.com/art/butt…
I saw it sitting there, and immediately remembered that at the time I saved it to my hard drive, I was studying other artists' work that I really liked the look of, trying to find little ways to improve my own style.
Well, that piece right there is the one that caused a metaphorical blindfold to fall off my metaphorical art-eyes, and I realized, "Hey! The bold outlines there really help to visually separate an individual character/object from surrounding elements (especially in busy panels, which I draw a lot of)!"
I have since worked that into the comic I've been drawing, and it's made a huge improvement! So, I felt it was worth letting you know that seeing this cute little doodle of yours gave me a huge breakthrough in my own artistic journey. So go out and feel good about yourself!
