# About me

Just a regular guy that enjoys anime, manga, gaming, art, music, and other things you'd expect. I also enjoy learning things, and often just spend time studying subjects for no real reason other than finding them interesting such as biology, physics, medical conditions, chemicals, anything really. I was once an artist like my father, who was extremely skilled. He could draw photo-realistic portraits by hand, no computer, no need for models, just his mind. I was never that good, but I was very gifted. I could draw scenery, animals, cartoons, and anime (existing characters or ones I created). I couldn't draw people, though. However, I lost the ability to draw after nerve damage affected my entire body due to a disease that was hereditary. It happened to my dad as well, but in his later years. For me it set in during my early 20s. It caused me to lose fine motor skills, have severe pain, seizures and such. What really did my drawing talent in was when I had a bike accident, landing on my right arm and shoulder after being thrown into the air at 45mph going downhill. A pot-hole in the road stopped my front tire instantly, throwing me far into the air, as well as 20-25 feet ahead and downhill. Time slowed down as it does when you know you are in danger, and I saw I was on a course to hit my head, which could easily break my neck or crack my skull despite having a helmet due to the speed and height from which I fell. So I twisted a bit in mid-air and sacrificed my right side. The landing broke my collarbone in two spots dislocated my shoulder, tore ligaments, tendons, and normal muscle, as well as fracturing bones in my arm. I have a strong skeleton, so it was surprising to me. I got up, but was not able to move my arm. Unable to afford a doctor to fix everything, I just called a neighbor to pick me up, and went home. I stayed in bed for a long time, eventually with the help of my stepdad, reset my shoulder since it was dislocated. Then I had to wait for the muscles and bones to heal. After that, I had permanent numbness in my shoulder, upper arm, thumb, and right side of my chest. I could no longer even sign my name.
So I just enjoy other people's art. I also spend much more time reading, whether it be manga, or studying something. I can still play video games, as I have gotten to where I can tell how much I should push my thumb despite not feeling it. Though using a pen, pencil, or such is not possible.
Despite being crippled, I enjoy life (my back was also damaged in another accident, which limits me to standing or walking about 5-10 minutes a day before the spinal cord inflames and is pinched by the vertebrae, which causes my legs to lose all strength as they are paralyzed). I take many medications to counteract the severe pain of the nerve damage (The Myelin surrounding the nerves in my body was broken down by a disease, causing chronic pain throughout my whole body).
What I do is keep myself positive about all things. Things could be better, but they could be worse. So I remain thankful for all I have, as well as what I don't have. I could be fully paralyzed, or completely unable to walk for even 1 minute! So I don't mope around. I only leave the house once a month to visit the doctor, so I have a lot of free time (being unable to work does that).
I spend a lot of time talking to friends online. Other than my neighbor, who is a great friend, there aren't any people around here that I know. So I make friends online.
I hope to enjoy everyone's art. Always strive to keep learning. Don't reach a plateau and stay there, keep climbing.
