and I did encourage people to submit their entries into the group as well.

Ours doesn't for a reason. We have it set to display a full journal so people can read an entire announcement. A bunch of entries just crowds the page.
And that doesn't support our contest that is actually relevant to the group. That still only pushes your contest. If we allow you to advertise your contest, isn't it fair you do the same?
