ah haha I didn't expect a question like this and I'm super bad at explaining things but here goes... ;o;

I wouldn't say it's too hard. It's a nice balance, but I guess it depends on where you go?  It gives you good experience in the work field for the program that you are taking in college/uni. Cause essentially you are pretty much doing the same work as a regular full-time employees with some exceptions of course since you are a student.

My college offers a co-op option with the particular program I'm enrolled in. It's considered a credit and you have to pay a fee to be apart of the co-op program but I'm not too sure how it would work for programs that aren't like co-op specific programs. ^^'' It's also optional, so if students don't want to do it they can opt out and have their summer/winter vacations like usual but then they miss out on co-op experience/opportunities. Our college basically has their own job offer website for the students, we just have to apply to the different job offers and hope we get an interview etc etc. We can also apply to different jobs by doing job hunting on our own but we need to make sure the job relates to our program and is approved by the coordinator first.

So yeah I find the most stressful part is doing the job applications, so my advice is apply to everything that you can. Just so that your chances of landing a job is higher//just make sure you apply to jobs you are interested in I have some friends that regret applying to certain places after the fact. Also if you have a co-op coordinator at your college/uni try to find and book an appointment with them so they can help you!
