# About me
Hello! My name is Aisling and I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Dublin, Ireland. I have been painting digitally and designing websites since I was 15 years old. I bought my first graphics tablet when I was around 16, and since then I've never looked back.I'm an avid gamer, and much of my influence comes from this, which can probably be seen when you look at my work. I also find mythology and legend greatly inspiring, as, like with games, it showcases how imaginative and inspiring people can be.
Other than that I'm quite boring. I try not to let my bad eyesight affect my work, and I'm always striving to overcome any difficulties it poses for me.

No kidding. xD Yeah graphic design is pretty fun. Like a bit of everything mashed together lol (I'm hoping to go the concept art / matte painting route for game development and/or TV production). And you're doing illustration? That's so awesome.

SomeAssemblyNeeded [2011-04-10 08:57:22 +0000 UTC]
Hi there, I was considering creating a second account for my photography/photomanipulation, just to avoid annoying watchers who are only interested in either traditional or photo stuffs. But then Daniel pointed out it can be a pain and that he knows numerous people who've created two and then deleted one when they realized it wasn't a great idea. And you're one of them, so was just wondering what you found to be the pros and cons of having two profiles?

MissAisling In reply to SomeAssemblyNeeded [2011-04-10 13:01:47 +0000 UTC]
Oh, well, I was thinking the same thing when I made the other account for stuff. Some watchers get kind of fed up if you start submitting things they dont like. That's one good point of it, you don't have to split focus, but I would say it is the only good point. Logging out and logging back in is a little annoying, not to mention you will probably give one account more attention than the other anyways (sometimes I forgot my other accoutn was even there, so I still didn't upload as much as I had hoped). I got tired of it, too much work and not enough benefit. So what I did was, split my stuff up into different folders on this account. If people dont like me submitting a variety of things, I figured it's their problem not mine, you know?

Yeah I think maybe I'll leave it then, I've got enough to do! It's amazing how time consuming DA can be with just one account. I know what you mean, I think you're correct. Thanks for the reply
HAPPY SUNDAY!

Hello there1It is a pleasure for me to find and go thourgh your gallery, which contains so many marvelous masterpices. On the top of what I'd like to add that similar with you, I also suffer from poor eyesight which is actually the main obstacle in my entire life.It says that I have problem with the vision nerve that transmitts the image to my brain wrongly, thereforeEverything I see is virtually much smaller than it in others' eyes. So I think I totally understand the difficulty in dealing with arts and virtual images, yet totally appreciate your effort that you spend to make you achieve your goal!^^

Thank you for those lovely words. ^^ It's always a pleasure to meet other's with bad eyesight who love art. I'm sorry to hear about that problem. But it is nice to know you are overcoming the problem well, your paintings are really beautiful.
For me the problem is detail. I have albinism, so my eyes did not develop properly before I was born, so I have lots of things my eyes can't do. But I just draw from photographs. And the PC lets me zoom in as much as I want, so detail is not a problem with that either.
I hope there are lots of other people out there with bad eyesight, who are doing that too.

You are welcome, and thanks for your compliment too though I think my drawings are far away from pofessional and beautiful...besides to me,drawing is just a hobby.^^
I have heard of your problem since I use to be a common visitor to ophthalmology center when I was young.xD I also born with my poor eyesight which was something inherited from my parents.Yet since the gene causing my problem is recessive,so unfortunately I am one of the very rare in my falimy to have such thingy.Sometimes it is also very hard for me to identify colours, but as you had said, the zoom-in function really helps us alot.^^
Besides, I notice that you're from Ireland. Can you speake Gaelic anyway?^^

MissAisling In reply to HeiXieXun [2010-10-22 17:39:18 +0000 UTC]
A little, but not fluently. I know enough Gaelge to ask for directions, order food, etc, but almost no one here speaks it as their first language anymore, so sadly it is only being kept alive by the fact schools teach it.

Well, good for you since I am abit into this language though I just know few words.I used to try to translated some old Gaelige literature into Chinese via their English tanslations, yet it turned out to be strange so I gave up.xD I hope that you don't mind if I occassionally hit upon you with some questions about simple Gaelige.^^

I don't mind at all. And yes I know what you mean, Gaelge does not translate well into other languages. lol

hope to see more from you . and i'm very appy to have you as a watcher, because most of the people watching me do that because of my paintings ^^ so its great to also have someone who likes digital things.

Aw wasn't expecting you to watch me back
Well I like it when people have both in their galleries. Sometimes people say things like "oh digital painters can't paint traditional" which most of the time is soo not true >.< they just don't like to clean up! (or maybe that is just me lol). Either way I cna't wait to see what you come up with next. ^^

oh i love to watch interesting people.
i've got so many unpersonal watchers that
i don't really know who is watching me. so
i prefere watching those back imediately
who have intersting artworks .
i think we are the generation who is able to do both
traditional and digital. the younger ones might
start earlier with the ditigal media. but i only started
with my tablett in 2009 .
me too!! keep it up
