Of course. The group's focus is literary appreciation. I feel that it isn't acknowledged enough.
Every week, I pair up the members for a lit swap. That's where you read what your partner posts into the group featured folder and leave text feedback a.k.a. comment. They will do the same for you (or at least they should- if they don't just tell me and I'll take care of it).
That happens once a week when I update. I realize that deviantART has artists who write and do visual art, so that's why I only update once a week. That way, it isn't a hassle for some of the artists.
Just tell me if you didn't understand any of that and I'll think of some clever way to show you.

No, the writing you submit does not have to be new!
That's what I like about the group is that it's for appreciation of your existing deviations. Of course, if you want to create something new, I won't stop you.
So, yeah, if you're too busy or don't feel like writing a new piece, just submit something you've already got.
As for themes, there isn't really anything like that at the moment. I haven't said you can't post certain things (like mature content, extreme violence, questionable content), but if it becomes an issue I will.
(P.S. you just gave me an idea- one week, I could do themes. if someone doesn't have something that fits the theme, they'll have to write something. it could be a contest... or just a swap... lol)
