It was immensely helpful. I'm going though some minor writer's block with editing this script, but it's getting done. Hopefully the new ending will shorten it a little. Thank you again, by the way. 

I just saw what he said. I'm thinking maybe if you spread out the Dunn family's extra attention towards Robert to cover more stages of healing and alter his motivation slightly, his approval of your script may change. You could shift his motivation from apprehension towards perceived sub par grades to a state test. Those tend to carry a lot of unneeded weight and attention from the teaching body. 

It may not be the best strategy, but I've been changing a little at a time between drafts. This way I don't shoot myself in the foot by completely overhauling the script to the point where the reader ends up disliking it more or taking out what they liked in an attempt to improve the whole package.
