A heavy hand, a heavier heart which beat without purpose, and a mind that refuses to allow its owner the peaceful serenity of silence. A star, so bright those who dare look at it found themselves blinded by it's beauty, and a simple man, his forever pained soul, his only regret. A story of love had and love lost, betrayals of the heart, and the death of a smile so bright, the degradation of a soul,Β sullied but made to feel pure if only for a fiftieth of its existence.
A man, simple and plain, pure in no way once found himself lost, wandering through a rapidly darkening abyss that was his mind. He one day, upon the face of Mount Ash found himself staring into the night sky. His eyes blankly wandering, staring around aimlessly, until he found himself staring into beauty itself. Blinded by the beauty of the star he gazed into,Β his disgustingly dark mind felt a warm wave washing over it, offering something he had not experienced in his life; Silence.
Daily the man found himself visiting the star, spending every waking moment staring into the gorgeous sea-blue beauty of it, it was not long before he named it "Little Cephei," Daily the man experienced a feeling of fulfillment, completeness, purpose. However, as the man had been so used to, he found himself fearful of the day the beauty of Little Cephei left him.
His time spent with Little Cephei began to dwindle, as the man, despite the reassuring thoughts Cephei placed in his mind, strayed from the beautiful star. The man knew not what he was seeking, and knew not why he was, he found himself one day, staring into another star, which paled in comparison to the beauty and calming power of Cephei. But the dark tendrils of the man's past wrapped around him, diluting the light that Cephei shown upon him. Poisoning him, killing him, leaving him hollow and numb.
One day, The man told Little Cephei of his interest (which not even he underdtood,) in this plague ridden star, which has infected and devoured the man. The star Little Cephei continued to shine, while the man's smile quickly removed itself from his face, a mask slithering to take place of his true smile. The plague spread and the mound found himself crying out for the light if Cephei to shine down on him, to no avail, as Cephei had found another man to bless with the beauty of its light.
He stares into the sky now, a hollow smile on his face as he reminesces in the perfection that was his brief time with Cephei, his final words to the star lost on the wind, his unspoken love never to reach the star, his ungiven affections never to reach. The man swallows the ball that rose in his throat as he turned around, a tear streaming down his face as he walks in the direction of the star that infected and sullied him, his heart remaining on the face of Mount Ash.

I actually really love this. It reminds me of someone from my past, whom actually used to call me Little Cephei. It's a lovely story, something I can almost relate to. Thank you for sharing, and I'm terribly sorry for my late reply.
