How you been? Just thought I'd dust off my own account. I haven't done anything in a while. Are you still making art?

Dude, I implore you to do a version of the planet LV-426, from the movie alien. Primordial atmosphere, tiny, only 12,000 km, Lava base, cold, well below the line.

Thanks for the idea.

Yeah I looked around and couldn't get a good picture on google of exactly how it looks like. If you got a more detailed description throw it my way.

Well, there are 2 versions. One from the movie Alien and the other Aliens. I know its a tiny moon planet of many to a gas giant similar to Saturn. In Alien, the planet looks kind of yellow, Aliens it looks blue-purple. Difference might be due to the fact humans are terror-forming the planet. There might be a better description in the novel. Best bet is to watch a Blue-ray quality of the movies and go from there.

it doesnt take long to get decent at it, you just have to practice every day. tutorials are a great place to start but if you really want to be good you have to develop your own techniques. and its always best to try several pieces every week, then over time when you're comfortable you can do some more complex projects over weeks months and maybe a year or two.

Hey man, your work is really good. I was wondering if you could set me up with a tutorial on how you make those planets with Cinema4D i can't seem to get them to look quite as decent.
Thanks

N3UR0N In reply to StreetScene [2010-01-10 23:09:23 +0000 UTC]
as a matter of fact after experimenting with C4D for planets I decided to not use it. it renders weird for me and photoshop is alot easier to manipulate IMO. the only way ill use C4D is if I have a destroyed planet. u can also find a planet i made with c4d in my scraps.

Boa galeria! Space Art não é a minha especialidade, mas tenho a dizer que alguns trabalhos que estão na tua galeria, são simplesmente lindos. Muito interessante esta forma de interpretar o espaço! Vou deixar watch.
