Thanks for compliment, I will check out those sites. I appreciate all the tips & advise. It may take me awhile to get to the molding, as the materials are so expensive. I'll let you know how they turn out.

NerezaWorks In reply to shadeslaire [2015-09-27 21:48:20 +0000 UTC]

I totally understand molding is expensive as balls
Its a good skill to learn though. I be changeling starting off on the skull but you learn a lot from it to put into future molds.

Though there's lots of hidden costs that you might not think about makes it stupid  expensive too such as all the tinny things like gloves, brushes, buckets / cups to measure parts with, a scale to measure out by weight ext then there's all the things that help with the process but aren't 100 percent necessary such as small dremel to help with cleanup, electric screwdriver if your doing the mold with screws and bolts, etc
hence why I was trying to suggest some cheaper alternatives in the notes for stupid things that don't need to be fancy, dolor store is your friend..
Also if your doing a lot of molding try asking for empty buckets from restaurant they have them for food but will often toss them away when empty.. or  just recycle when possible it also help save money.

You are far to kind, Your work is fantastic both your traditional and your sculptural work is breath taking.
(To be honest I always wanted to try to make large scale sculptures like you do. Though allot of my sculptural work at the moment is only moderate in sises for costumes and smaller works in figures and models. Most of it isn't even posted  as of yet but I adore working in the 3 dimension as well as in flat paintings and drawings. So long as I get to create I'm happy.)

Rez...that last sentence says a lot about you. Your happiness is rooted in your creativity. That reveals that you are (what I call) a Creative. Creating for me (and many others) is a Life force. We are driven to express ourselves by creating. *smile* Speaking for myself...I struggle when I'm unable to create. I suspect it is the same with you. Ssso...it is very nice to "meet" you!

3D expressions: While it's true that I got the opportunity to work with a group of Creatives on the super-size Transformer sculptures...it was a rare opportunity. Most of my own 3D work is small scale stuff. There is a wonderful challenge to three dimensional art...and that's where the jazz is! *smile* Solving all the problems that arise when you're working in 3D. I hope you get your wish...and get a chance to do something large scale a some point. Don't be a stranger, Rez. Feel free to ask questions...or share experiences...or just say Hello.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. It is very much a passion and driving force in my life and something I constantly strive to Improve upon over the years. I am much the same in that mind set and without it I would fall apart. It is almost literally what I live for.

Also its great to get the opportunity to get to do groups projects I'm happy for you. The outcome is wonderful.
I have to agree again working in 3d is a completely difference experience to 2d art but the challenge is welcomed and embraced as it just makes it all the more enjoyable to do. Besides I have found over the years that having that verity has helped in other arias of my work as well.
Thank you for the offer I defiantly have to take it up some time, It great to have support from artist I respect.

Developing skills in a variety of media certainly does help an artist across the board. I totally agree with you, Rez. The knowledge I gained by tackling three dimensional problems has helped me think in terms of perspective in my illustration work. I set up a scene in my head...and then "turn" it like it's a 3D model in order to find the best way to put the scene on the paper.

This Art Community can be a fabulous resource to any artist who senses the potential benefits to being active here on DA. We need to support each other's creative efforts!
