Well, too/to is a rule (they're two different words), not a spelling difference, like colour and color. That guy (he's 39yo, btw.) was wrong, and still is.

actually i checked it up and i'm pretty sure he was using it correctly. i can't remember exactly what he said, but it was something like 'too many' or 'too easy' wasn't it? if it was then it's T-O-O in either American English or UK English

Yeah, it was about "too many", "too easy", etc. But he said it should be "to many", "to easy"...
American English, British English - same thing with using 'too' and 'to'. He's just dumb.

well, i only dislike America in principal, i suppose, i don't like a lot of things about their government and i don't like the many thousands of them who spam up the internet with red neck, racist, ignorant comments. But i have friends and family in America who are all wonderful people, and all the times i've been there i've had a great time. so i suppose it's a matter of luck to find the good Americans or the stereotypically style bad ones

Indeed. I guess I was (un)lucky enough to find the stereotypically dumb ones. I know a few Americans on the Internet, and only one is actually smart.
One was dumb enough to mistake geology for geography.
I don't like Americans, because they're mostly too ignorant and they don't care about the world around them. They're easy to brainwash. Their government can basically do whatever it pleases.
Also, they're so patriotic, they're actually like nationalists.
