I'm sure you'll be popular here. Sometimes it takes a while for people to find you and take a look at your work, but it's worth it when they do. My advice to you is that you get out, what you put in; if you're active on the site, and comment on other artists' work, you're subtly advertising your own portfolio at the same time.

irl is a bit hectic because we're getting closer to the new year, but hopefully I'll get some time soon to get more into how the site works and start browsing through the site

DeviantART can be a double-edged sword. One day, you might log on and see nothing but horrible fetish artwork and Sonic recolours - and then the next, you'll meet an artist that you admire for the rest of your artistic life. The potential for personal growth and development is huge, if you can stomach the seedier side of the community.

oh yeah, definitely 😭😭 I've tried searching for a few things and boy oh boy, I think I need some kind of filtering system...not that I have anything against those specific sides of art, but it seems a bit difficult to not have it pop up in your searches 😭

*grins* Having been here for a decade, I can well appreciate the situation you find yourself in. The further into the rabbit hole you delve, the worse it becomes; there is a 'Mature Content' filter, but there are many users who don't think that their work is adult in nature, and don't use it. But, every cloud; the more horrible shit you see, the less affected you are by it. If you're an active user on DeviantART, you'll develop a resilience to it - one day, you'll be browsing the site and think "Hmm, it's been approximately three minutes since I last saw Buster Bunny being inflated with a bicycle pump; something's amiss here."

Yeah, I've know about DeviantArt for quite a while but just never joined, but like, my first associated thoughts to the site was 'art' and 'all the fetish stuff'  😭😭

Luckily having been on Tumblr pre-NSFW purge I'm just kind of 'meh' when it shows up now (。≖ˇ∀ˇ≖。)
