Oil Painters of America’s mission is to advance the cause of traditional, representational fine art. Dedicated to preserving and promoting excellence in representational art, OPA’s primary focus is to draw attention to the lasting value of fine drawing, color, composition, and the appreciation of light.The "Favorite" of a painting by OPA Deviant Art does not guarantee membership into the organization or entry into any exhibition. Membership applications are reviewed by a committee and entry into an exhibition is done by a jurying process.
You must live in North America (which includes United States, Canada, and Mexico) and be a member of OPA to participate in exhibitions.

I often come back visiting the gallery , as I said, but am I alone? Few new people show paintings.
I'm disappointed: I would have thought that there were plenty of oil painters in "America"!
Anyway, these paintings are really good works: There are too few of comments about them. Why?

You're welcome. You have talent. Definitely keep membership in mind. It's $60. We host several exhibitions. Our Online Showcase has a $14 entry fee, but the awards are substantial. The money could keep you in painting supplies for quite a while.

yes all excepted for 2014. im trying to finish a painting now for the dec on line event but i dont think im going to make it. such a complicated and in depth study on a big scale 24" by 48" titled Time Keeps On Ticking. i think i have it posted as Chronographe WIP check it out if you want thanks for taking an interest in me

Hi. So glad you're a member. Were you able to enter a painting for the National exhibition? Our Spring Online Showcase started on March 1 and runs until May 15 if you want to enter for that one.

im glad to be a member. no i have not entered i'm working on the watch painting its a long way off rather large work i paint very slowly some times also have been working with my custom made shoe Co. so not a lot of time i will get it in before the end of the year no point in rushing if its not going to help it be the best i can paint.

Definitely enter something once you feel it's your best. You're correct that there's no point in rushing. There will be plenty of exhibitions to enter in the future.

I have made a mental note to join as soon as I can. I am a single mother and my art is my only income. I was depending on a sale of a requested painting to catch up with my rent and bills - and it appears as though it has been lost in the mail in route to the gallery on Cape Cod. It was due to arrive the day after the hurricane hit the east coast, and is most likely sitting somewhere between New York and Boston. haha Damned my Irish luck. So, am sitting here 2 months behind on my rent and bills, hoping the painting gets found or I sell something else fast. I do plan on joining as soon as I get caught up a bit though. Thanks for the invite
