Beauty is, in and of itself, art. The fact that you cannot see that particular photo's artisit merit makes me question if you know anything of color and hue, light and line.

all Im saying is that the woman herself is Art. He is taking pictures of a work of art which is the beautiful women. there is no real lighting or artistic value the photographer himself has. But the woman is living breathing art. She is art. he is a man who took a picture of it.

A Photographer captures beauty and shows it to the world. Or they find that which is ugly, terrifying, captivating in some way. That is their art, their skill (which is the root meaning of the word art). His art, his ability is to capture something for a moment in time, freeze it, and magnify it. That you don't recognize how the green of the background makes her skin tone and hair pop, or the subtle shadows that come from the natural light that appears to be illuminating that particular picture and many of his others baffles me. For sure there are pictures he has that are less stunning; every artist has their better pictures and their worse ones. However, the specific picture you commented on and that he replied to is a work of art, for his ability to capture what he wanted as well as for choices of lighting and color within the picture.

Perhaps your definition of art is too narrow.
