Hey there, Paige! Long time no talk! How have you been in this last period? Did the fall season bring something interesting? I know that there was an EF1 tornado in Norman. Another thing: IΒ wanted to hear your expectations and opinions about May 18th. I recently found your video of that day while I was surfing the internet and... yeah, I just wanted to hear your story. Also, your boyfriend seemed a bit pissed off about tornadoes lifting before crossing the road.

Your photos are simply amazing! Β
I love the sky and things, but oh my, I wouldn't have the nerves of steel to chase tornado!

Thank you! There really isn't a whole lot of bravery to it. Tornadoes themselves are pretty easy to predict and even easier to avoid. It's the lightning, floods, and especially other drivers that scare me most.

Hey, since it's April I wanted to wish you good luck this season!
Maybe you already started chasing with this active period you're having in the central U.S. but still.
Have a great year and stay safe!

Thank you! I have chased a few of the more marginal setups so far, but my work schedule isn't cooperating with other days, like today, haha. Just waiting for something good either in Oklahoma or when I'm off!

Larry-The-Beaver In reply to PaigeBurress [2017-04-02 15:43:45 +0000 UTC]
Oh, I so understand you. My everyday summer schedule never cooperates with the weather. So I miss too a lot of good events.Β
I'm sure you'll get it someday. April is just begun and May is coming soon! It's a shame that you missed these recent events, especially today but I'm sure you'll have something worth the wait.

I work nights so that I can at least chase local stuff before work, but so far that hasn't worked out either. Hopefully May is good this year. Similar patterns to this year's have had active Aprils and quieter Mays. I had zero storm chases during my week off for chasing last year, and I really don't want to repeat that, haha.

Oh, I see. I also see the analog years, like 2012, could be problematic in May but who knows, Mother Nature can change her mind in a second. Stay positive and safe! Storms will arrive!

Pretty well too!
Ok. So, since you go to chase storms from time to time, have you ever met a guy named Hank Schyma? Or at least, have you ever heard of him?

Pecos Hank, absolutely! I've never had a chance to sit down and talk to the guy, but I do know of him.

And what you think about him?
You know, since today he posted his story of the Katie, Oklahoma EF4, I remembered that it was your first violent tornado sooo... I asked you!

He's a great and humble chaser, and his videos are wonderful. He knows how to make it entertaining (or serious when it needs to be), and he also knows how to stay quiet and focus on the tornado, haha.

Good day. I know we just "talked" on your photo of the Katie tornado, but I wanted to tell you that I just read your review of Into The Storm aaaaand... I just wanted to talk about it with you.

Haha, it's not my favorite tornado movie, but I was definitely surprised that it wasn't a complete train wreck.

Yeah, I'm happy too.
First of all: so I'm not the only one who noticed the flying cow! XD
Second: I liked the cameras thing, where they were filming the disaster instead of the movie cameramen.
Third: I wish people here in Italy give their honest opinion on this film instead of "it's another disaster movie..." or "Sharknado is better" based on the trailer or reviews on the internet...

PaigeBurress In reply to Larry-The-Beaver [2016-06-20 12:45:23 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I liked the sort of "found footage" kind of filming. It was a different perspective than I'm used to.
People here had the same kind of opinion. There are so many disaster movies, and this one didn't have nearly the same kind of budget so the acting wasn't all that great. They put money into the graphics, which was nice to see. Would have been nice if they could have afforded better actors and maybe a bit less overdone of a plot, haha. Then again, there's only so much you can do when your antagonist is a tornado.Β

Yeah, you're right. The effect were awesome, but the plot... nah... Then again, this movies should be watched only if you like good effects, because, most of the times, the plot is not a brilliant one, so don't expect much from it.
