Hey bro, thanks for the comments. Ive actually been meaning to do a color version of the one you suggested for quite some time now, but schoolwork has been keepin me down. so if you're this far along into aprenticeship as you say you are, how did you make it through without knowing how to spell? and you DID say they were your studies if that's not what you meant you could have better worded it with "my observations" or something along those lines. im still baffled at how you could make it so far along in life without knowing what a dictionary or thesaurus is. and if you did know, WHY didn't or don't you use one? and i notice you didn't reply to what i had to say before, it sucks when someone who actually knows what they're talking about comes in (being a guy even) and tells you you're wrong, don't worry it happens to the best of us.

And uhh once again nobody is reading close enought o realise that THESE ARE NOT MY STUDIES ... and if you would read any of my submitions i state that im getting my apprenticeship to do tattoos. So im afraid your "assumption" of my college studies is incorrect . I never once said i agreed to the studies I even stated that i DIDNT agree with them, and women use there sex like black people use there color. "i was told to sit in the back of the bus cause im black " , " i wasnt the best artist cause im a girl" ermmm no. If your were told to sit in th eback of th ebus an dyou did it , its cause your an idiot . If your not a great artist its because either A.) you need to practice a little more B.) The masses dont like your style ( wich doesnt make someone bad ) C.) Its just not in you . Your telling me because a girl has tits, ass , and a high pitched voice ( for MOST women anyways) is the reason that they werent good? If someone was THAT good they wouldve been the best no mater what... you would get recognition just for being good. Everyone is taking everything i post in the wrong way... i wasnt going "ape shit" i was restating what i said... and the hypothetic situations that i posted are exambles of other ways that my comment couldve been interpreted rather than " hes sexist and he beleives what he reads" FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE . The fact of the matter is that women are in fact more artistic than men. I think you messed up your scientific studies there. The VAST majority of colleges, too, are about 60% women. True, men ARE in general more scientific and math prone. But even in MY personal experience, women are more artistic in general, if anything. I think that you just messed up your basis of facts. Props for her calling you out on it, however, if I were in your position, I probably wouldn't have gotten 'mad' unless she directed her comments personally towards me. I'm of the mind that humans are rational being and that we can work out our differences without using harsh language. I also don't particularly condone using personal attacks as arguments on EITHER side, you or her. (shrugs) to each his own, i suppose, though. I just think that the situation could have better been resolved with less anger and personal attacking, and I wasn't very impressed in the way either of you handled it. Just FYI, I sent this message to her as well.

i don't have much to say, but if you're profile is correct you're only 18, by this logic you are either in first year university, out of school, or still in highschool. i'd like to say that im 18 as well this how i can make the assumptions, i can also say that if you're in university you're not far along in second semester. By all this i'd like to say, where are you getting your information? you come up with all this sexist bullshit saying men are better artist? Where the hell do you come off saying something like that? You say that the big artist were men right? you know why that is? I do. Now, this is just an assumption, but im going to assume that you're talking about in the past, when women were considered a minority group, and it's because of that that the women artists didn't get any recognition. Also, you were talking about right and left brained, now based on your post im going to assume again that you're right brained because you can draw (i will admit) BUT you have no logic what so ever and if you didn't know logic is contained in the left hemisphere. If you've read the carefully i have supported my opinions with facts that are plausible and logical and if you're as smart as you think you are you'l understand and realize you're wrong. Yes i am only still in high-school but im studying psychology so my facts and opinions are legitimate. now that you've had you ass handed you on a platter i bid you good day.

Therefore I'm repealing any mention of your art, because that was a base, idiotic, and unkind thing to say, on my part. Also, you're completely right about the "yo momma" comment; it was infantile and wrong. I admit I let my feelings get the best of me, and therefore ruined what strength my argument had.

Perhaps you did express yourself inadequately, and I didn't give you a chance. My opinions do still hold, however...I don't really regret replying to your comment; I only regret some of the ways in which I did it.
But since I feel we're both mature enough to end this mud-slinging, I'd like to be the first to try.

PainfulSketch-- You do realize that mindlessly insulting people and calling them "morons" and interesting variations thereof isn't winning any arguements, don't you?
I have a lot of things I'd like to say to you, after reading your posts here and on Pu-sama's page, but I really don't want to get into any juvenile squabbles at the moment.
My advice to you is this: if you want people to take you seriously and respect you as well as your arguements, then PLEASE, PLEASE learn to spell and punctuate properly. Some grammar skills wouldn't go wrong either, and neither would an expansion of your vocabulary. I'm not trying to be mean, but the fact is that if you want to win an arguement, you must be at least semi-literate.
Also, please consider that your usage of insults is only backfiring. It makes you look childish and immature.
Please do not leave any comments on my page regarding this note, as I will probably ignore them anyway. Thank you.

You have only been on DA for a few days, you obviously don't realize DA is made up of far more female artists than male, and that these women are very brilliant, talented artists, most of whom are so good that they are extreme professionals in their artistic field. If you stay at DA for any length of time you will discover as I have that it is actually more women than men submit the "badass pieces" on DA. How do I know this? Because you told me to "compare" and so I did... I just spent the last hour going over all the people that I watch, and nearly ALL of the artists listed in my "friends" happen to be female. I didn't choose to watch them because they are female, I chose to watch them because their art was spectacular. How ironic, then, that I, by happenstance, watch more women than men. More women are apparently submitting "better" art, and in greater quantities of it, than men.

Oh really? What "point" is that? Your point was there are not as many good female artists as male. How did my post "prove" that? I think my post proved otherwise! How was my stating that there have been many great women artists throughout history an "ignorant" statement? What's ignorant is your not even knowing that one of the greatest artists of our time, Georgia Okeefe, did some of her most recognized work while living in your very own state of Texas, and that according to the internet, there are more highly recognized female artists in Texas than there are male! Now that's ignorance.

Where are the facts backing this up? Facts that SPECIFICALLY SAY "females don't develop artistic abilities in drawing or creativity"? Provide us with links to all these studies, sir. I have never heard of such a thing in my life. In all of my art classes, high school, college and otherwise, the majority of students were female. In my working environment (graphic design) I have always had more female colleagues than men. I just spent a considerable amount of time on the internet trying to discern even a modicum of truth to such a statement, and could find no veracity to the statement whatsoever. You claim women are more "right brained" than men. Hmmm. Since it is a proven fact that Right Brained people are inherently more artistic than Left Brained persons, then if what you say is true, you're saying all women would be predisposed at birth to be better artists than men. Doesn't that basically negate your earlier statement that most women can't draw..?

You will not get very far in any field, creative or otherwise, if you continue with your prejudiced, small-minded way of thinking. If you'd like to succeed at all at life in general, I strongly urge you to stop spewing forth such unsubstantiated speeches, or you will garner many stanch opposers quite quickly. No professional I know worth their salt ever speaks about anyone of the opposite sex in such a way. Men far greater than you will ever be have fallen very hard from their posts and positions for uttering biased comments the way you did.

You appear to be stating you feel all girls responding to you have no place to do so because they don't create art that's up to your standards, and that you feel most of the girls on this site create "crap" and thus have no room to talk.

Hmm. Let's apply your own standards to yourself, shall we? Who are YOU to say who can post what, when every ounce of what is in your gallery is no better than what you are accusing these "girls" of? Your work, sir, is crudely elementary at best. I do not see how you can possibly have the gall to judge others so unfairly when your own work does not display viable acumen in the artistic field. You apparently feel you can create this kind of work and then say what you want, so why can't anyone else, male or female, do the same?

What's especially interesting is that after all your "girls can't draw" talk, you seemed to think MY work was acceptable. Wait, how did you so crudely put it? Ah, yes, my "shit" is good. Well, what you need to realize is that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of very talented female artists on DA whose "shit" is also very, very good. Much better than any of the work you've shown us thus far in your own "male" gallery.

Before you go around saying that DA has more talented men than women, it would behoove you to stay here awhile and examine the work of more than just a handful of galleries.

Here are just a few DA females who are very well known in this community for creating seriously "badass pieces". I strongly suggest you take the time to check their work out before making any more crackhanded remarks like you did on Pu's page.

I beleive you're mistaken, PainfulSketch. You ARE a sexist, even if you don't know. Many don't. I may not be a great artist, but I happen to know many more females than males who are talentedin that way. And according to your "study", you say that women are more right-brained. They do tend to be, except the arts is included in that. ALL the arts.

Here, I will recommend three of my closest friends, who also happen to be fantastic artists.
I guess these are the "one-in-a-million" who are good, eh? Not likely. Browse the memberlist of DA, click on "Random User", if you may. Chances are they are female.

I would like to take a moment to remind you what exactly you have written on the fabulous Pu-sama's page:

Now.

As most intelligent people would notice, the exact quote that sticks out in this entire paragraph would be: "( not being sexest but according to scientific studies most females dont devolpe artistic abilities in drawing or creativity )"

Now.

Even if you did not intend to be "sexest" as you so eloquently stated, you have only achieved this point. While there *is* scientific proof that males have greater spacial abilities than females, this does *not* mean men are superior to women in creativity or art.
Before going around and claiming women insuperior to men in all aspects of drawing or creativity, perhaps you should rethink your basis for your assumptions.

Somehow I don't think it's quite fair to stereotype female's art abilities and creativity from that standpoint. Especially since this doesn't seem to be scientific evidence in the least.
However, if you wanted to voice your opinion on women's art abilities, perhaps not ever mentioning the fact you were not being "sexest" would have been mildly advisable.
Or perhaps a rewording would have been in order for that entire comment? Stating that women can't draw or be creative on the internet is bound to get you into some manner of trouble, and being as intelligent and observant as you put yourself up to be you should have forseen this.

I would honestly enjoy seeing some of this "scientific evidence" if you can produce it, seeing as many of my female friends and teachers are fabulously creative not only in art but in a multitude of literature and fine arts.

If you intend to critique art in the future, please remember to actually critique the art, not the gender of the artists who create the works. Thank you for your time.

Read your comment in Pu-sama's journal, and all I have to say (and this is not a flame, just needed to clarify with you), is: Don't you visit art museums? Have you never taken even one art class? You must not have, or you'd know that there are TONS of very famous, very important female artists in the world. Georgia Okeefe was a girl and was considered one of the most renown painters of this century. Mary Cassatt is VITAL to art history; she's considered a Master Painter right along side Monet and Picasso. It wasn't enough she was the premier painter in America in the 1800's, she went over to Paris and was considered one of the best artists in all of Europe, too! And what about Artemisia Gentileschi, who in the 1600's painted such famous works as "The Annunciation, Adoration of the Magi, The Birth of St. John the Baptist"? She is considered by the art world to be one of the most major of the Italian Baroque painters ever and one of the most important artists ever prior to our modern period! And bringing it to even other art forms: one of the best comic book artists alive today is a female: Wendy Pini of WaRP Graphics. And, uh, I'm a girl, and I think I can draw and be creative as well as the next guy. WAAAY over half of the artists I interact with on DA are female, and they're all very very very creative and talented. I think you may need to reconsider your "scientific sources" and verify them against ACTUAL FACTS before making such a statement again. Thank you.

Here because of teh comment you left on Pu-sama's journal but this is not a flame:

I'm really curious what study you have that said that because the studies I've seen show woman have a much higher aptitude for spontaniety and creative thinking than men do. And in fact, in elementary school, woman also out do men in math and science because they grasp the abstract concepts better.

Also, to me statistically that makes no sense as it seems for more woman write fanfics and create fanart than men.

What you do have are more men getting published professionally. I personal don't see this has indication of whose better and whose worse but of the biases in society.

300 years ago, few woman were even allowed to be painters. It's only in the 20th cent. that woman have really started to make a name for themselves as artists.

Did you know that in the early 20th cent. it was considered inappropriate for woman to draw anything aside from a child? So, studies saying woman aren't creative have to account for a huge sociatal bias.

I will give you that, from personal observation, without training or books or anything, males draw better machines and woman draw better animals and expressions.

But again, that's not lack of creativity but just preference in what to draw.

Sorry *L* I'm big into the "woman breaking into comics* movement

But yeah, I'd be really interested in seeing the study. ^^
