Heheheheh, I was talking to someone today about how disappointed I am in a particular particular artist I know who uses markers and charges a LOT to make up for that cost but produces a quality that isn't that great.
So I couldn't help but show off your pictures to show how it OUGHT to be done for how expensive it is. Your work is so very, very nice. <3 Still is; probably always will.
The topic came up because I am experimenting with a new media technique with markers I've never seen before for my furry commission work. I haven't used markers in like... 10 years before today. c.c' You were the one who inspired me to buy them in the first place!

Your comment made me smile. Thanks so much for taking the time! This is the first time I've turned on my computer in a couple weeks because I'm working 12-14 hour shifts right now, and this was so nice to read! AnotherΒ Pokedorks buddy helped me acquire some interesting new art goodies recently and I'm really hoping to do more art once the holiday retail season dies down. My markers will always be my very favorite media, but I love trying new things too.Β
One of my favorite things about makers is that they'll wait 10 years for you to use them again. Cheap kiddo markers spoil fairly quickly but not better quality stuff. I have markers from 2004 that still work, dislikable colors I seldom use and it's so awesome that I don't have to buy new ones due to spoilage. I'm looking forward to whatever you do with your markers! I've always admired how adventurous you are with forging new techniques and pushing the limitations of your media.
Cheers!

That's incredible so quality markers really are worth the investment?

Hi! Whether they're ultimately "worth the investment" depends on why you're investing, I suppose, but I've never regretted buying professional quality art markers. Worth every penny, in my opinion. Prismacolor is my favorite brand of art markers but there are lots of brands and types of art markers to choose from depending on what is desired. Please let me know if you have any other questions you'd like to ask - Markers and traditional art supplies in general are a passion of mine and I'm happy to share anything I know and I'd like to hear about your art experiences too. Have a great day!

I prefer the bold colors of markers myself, but because my kids usually end up in my markers I normally don't buy ones that I would miss or feel protective of.
Prismacolor is an awesome brand, high quality, I never worry my color pencils will be prebroken when I sharpen them.

Woah, having to share with children changes everything. Aside from the initial expense of buying them, Prisma ink can pour out at an insanely wasteful rate if you let it and won't wash off with soap and water. You can sometimes get it off with rubbing alcohol depending on what undesirable material got markered. I know exactly how to keep them clean and make them last a very long time but boyyyyy can they make a mess and die quickly if you use them like a typical kid would. Like kid-me did with my first set.
I actually learned all my markering basics with cheap Crayola markers, which are about as kid-friendly as it gets. FYI, Prisma markers do have a very strong alcohol smell that may discourage the kids. I remember being a little appalled when I first started using them as a teenager, but it hasn't bothered me in a very long time. Some of my more drinky family members report the markers as smelling appealing.
I am not very skilled with colored pencils but I think Prisma pencils will always be kinda special. I have other brands I usually like more for colored pencils but there's no brand quite like Prisma and sometimes I crave their unique creamy waxy texture. Plus the color range matches the markers! So Prisma pencils are my go-to for fixing certain "oopsie" moments with the markers.

I was like 25 when I messed up a whole load of laundry by letting a marker get loose in there. No kids to blame, I am that dumb. Thankfully half my PJs were purple anyway but it took years for the purple streaks to fade away inside the dryer.Β XD
