Seems like Sonar deleted the journal where we discussed about the name of his character etc etc, so I couldn't answer your question there. So, I decided to come here to clear things up.
Anyway, the post I originally made there went:
"I believe you that maybe this person you're talking about did stole the name from you, but you can't go blaming every Sonar around for stealing. You know, Sonar isn't very uncommon name for Sonic character, because of it's meaning AND the fact that it's close to "Sonic", which is a clue most newbies use to name their charas. You know, getting the name of official character and altering a bit and voΓla! a perfect name for OC. Lol. (I know this for a fact, because my first Sonic OC:s are Sonya and Milena, sisters of Sonic and Tails (Miles), so yeah. That's how a mind of a kid works)"
Then you said:
"Oh dear Oona-Me. PLEASE tell me why the SONAR system is similar to the name SONIC. The SONAR system in ships sends ultraSOUND rays not ultraSONIC rays... So I don't understand @_@"
And my answer is:
I didn't say that sonar system is similar to sonic in any way, instead I said that the meaning of the word is "a good name" by some standards (and meant it individually, with nothing to do with sonic. Just the word "sonar"). And that the name Sonar sounds awfully lot like Sonic (because they both have "Son" in the start, lol). Sorry if I confused you with my bad wording^^

I deleted it cause I decided it wasn't really a big deal and I understood where you were coming from about the characters and stuff and yes I know what the sonar system is, but thats not where I got the name from. I just randomly drew a hedgehog and named it Sonar. I wasn't thinking about anything else or sonic and company. I was only thinking of a name and thats what came out, but now I have come up with a ton of names and I wonder if Sonar was a good choice for a name. Oh well sorry for commenting to you late and for this being so big.
