In Portugal we have to learn at least 2 languages foreing 'til 16 at least we should.

Well, America is quite liberated on the languages scale... The fact that we don't have a structured languages plan might be why we are considered so ignorant, but those of us that attend high school in my home state have to learn English and at least one other language if they want to be able to go to university. My goal is still to learn every language ever written or spoken...
