# About me
I am an artist is my mind. I do not draw or sculpt. I build things with wood, and I build models. More specifically, I build model trains. They are NOT toy trains, they are 1:87 scale replicas of railroad locomotives and rolling stock (train cars). I do NOT play with trains, I OPERATE a scale representation of a railroad. This means that I move cars from place to place like a real railroad would. I proto-freelance, which means that I have a made up railroad, set in a specific time period and area of the country.# Comments

Saw your comment about the Edmund Fitzgerald model. YouΒ made a statement that your great-great-great-great-great uncle served on the Fitzgerald andΒ went down with the ship in 1975. Are you a year old or are you 85 years old? Assuming a minimum age of 18 to be employed on the ship, your great-great-great-great-great uncle was born in 1957 and passed in 1975. Or, let's say he's retiring early, at age 50. The ship sank in 1975, so your great-great-great-great-great uncle was born in 1925. Even if you were born in 1931 and you and all 6 generations of uncles are each only a year apart, you would have to be 85 right now. You cannot possible have 6-generations of uncles that only date back 85 years. With your logic, more than likely all of you are still alive. Except for your great-great-great-great-great uncle of course. Using a conservative life span of 60 years each for your 6 generations of uncles, your great-great-great-great-great uncle was born in 1826 and he would havd been 149 years old while serving on the Fitzgerald in 1975. Don't mean to be offensive but your distortion was ridiculous.

when I made that comment, I meant to say he was my 5th uncle, aka 5 times removed. I didn't know the proper phrasing at the time.

Thanks for the Fave.Β Just remembered the funniest thing I saw on a model railroad, a three track car ferry with a micro switch load two cars on either side track more than the other and it would sound a buzzer and a sign with the word tilt on it would flash when the buzzer sounded on, off, on, off.

I think I will keep that in mind for my layout some day. A good way to add realism, especially with different cars.
