Actually, I kicked WoW to the curb half a year ago, but my love of RP remains. How're you doing?

Ha, really? I've been playin' since November '04 and still enjoyin' it pretty well. I'm doin' just dandy, you?

Once I realized I was just grinding the same three quests over and over with no end in sight, the roleplay was all that kept me coming back, and when that stopped being enough to justify me sticking around, I stopped renewing the subscription. Nowadays, the World of Darkness is what attends to all of my roleplaying needs, and let me tell you: I definitely traded up.

On the contrary, I'm quite honored by all the praise I've received for this one. I'm certainly taking a whole series of new ones under serious consideration.

And another thing since you are the one who brought up the Donatello-Michelangelo bit for whatever reason

It is quite logical to deduce that 's original concept of "Catch a Blastoise" has greatly influenced your recent deviantart submission, since most people know that Donatello is certainly the most influential individual artist of the 15th century in Italy.

November10 [2009-12-28 03:59:43 +0000 UTC]

But did not even mention the name of the artist whose original concept was so unusually and strangely similar to your recent deviant submission on his post above . Not even on the link he provided.

So, when exactly did you see the original concept of as you claimed you saw for the first time "the other day"?
Was it before, during or after you've created your "improved" version of Blastoise

And if you are trying to use the Donatello- Michelangelo bit for whatever reason.

That is tantamount or equivalent to admitting that the original concept of 's "Catch a Blastoise" piece has a great influence on your recent deviantart submission.

For most people know that Donatello has certainly a great influence on Michelangelo!

Would if I could further the parallel between me and master of the Renaissance, but unfortunately I only discovered ~mast3r-sword's "Catch a Blastoise" after I'd created and submitted mine. As to the originality of the idea of using photo manipulation to create a realistic Blastoise, I suppose you could say that great minds think alike, even when independent of each other's influence.

That said, my main inspiration in creating "Blastoise on the Beach" was the web site Worth1000.com, which regularly hosts Photoshop contests, and has had a few centered on creating realistic Pokemon. Who knows? Maybe I'll be featured in their next one, and even win. Fingers crossed!

Good god people. Shut up.

If he said he got his inspiration from Worth1000.com, then he did.

I don't know if you've noticed, but PLENTY of deviations on dA have the concept of 'realistic pokemon' and Blastoise just happens to be one of the popular originals. How about we rip on kyousukey for stealing the concept of 'real pokemon'? Of course you wouldn't, that would be ridiculous. That's about as dumb as complaining because someone drew a fan art of the same character as you.

In fact, NEITHER artist even created the pokemon Blastoise, so why does it matter?

In the end, even if each artist DID see another's work, it's just another rendition of a character neither of them created.

Dude , i think yoyr blastoise image is hreat form of showing what you can do, but are you sure you didnt see this.

[link]

Before yoiu began yours? I mean its the exact same concept, the tortoise is even at the same angle. =/ If so maybe you should mention that in the artists comments

If not then im sorry must just be a huge coincidence.

RecusantKnight In reply to Kyousukey [2009-12-28 03:00:39 +0000 UTC]

I saw that one for the first time just the other day. Consider it similar to Michelangelo's and Donatello's separate interpretations of David as suited their distinctive styles.

Hell, maybe ~Mast3r-sword and I can collaborate on an even better Blastoise someday.
