I was trying to find the old lego mania magazine with the knights kingdom stuff. Sadly it was one of the few that wasn't up. I don't recall them expounding on Cedric's backstory like at all. Either that or it was lost on me being so young. But yeah, that was interesting stuff.

Cedric, Gilbert and Weezil have never had chocolate before cuz of the time period they're from. We all know Brickster likes pizza but i'm sure he likes chocolate too. Excepting to see Baron Von Baron here? Nope Rudo Villano is here instead cuz i've got a soft spot for him also if you go by Soccer/Football Mania's story mode Brickster seems to know Rudo. Cedric had to keep an eye on Weezil because of his gluttonous appetite as result of the boy being starved before Cedric found him and took him in

I know of the magazine you're talking about and the backstory they gave him in that is completely different to the one I told you about. It seems like Lego couldn't decide on his backstory. The magazine said that he used to be one of Leo's knights but got power hungry and betrayed Leo. The story I told you about him being a 13th prince was mentioned in Creator KKs manual and this KK storybook called Medieval Mischief and Mayhem. I still wanna say him being a prince is the canon one since it's used twice. They didn't ever show the kingdom Cedric came from or his 12 older brothers. I already wanna go with it's a cold Viking/Norse/Scandinavian based land since I feel Cedric looks a little viking looking with that bushy mustache and shaggy hair of his. Not to mention he is canologically strong as he's seen lifting a portcullis all on his on in one of Creator KK's cutscenes

Oh yeah, that's right that's what the magazine said. I guess Weezil was probably just a grunt too. You sure know your stuff.

Obviously no one was checking for consistency, I guess it didn't matter to Lego in the long run so canon is whatever anyone wants it to be I guess. But yeah, the prince thing is the more clever one. All he really needs to do is win the King's daughter but I guess that pesky John of Mane kept him from it in the joust.XD

It's very easy to miss the part about Weezil being Cedric's adopted son as it's only mentioned in the manual and
Cedric never actually refers to Weezil as his son nor does Weezil ever call Cedric his father. They never showed any father and son bonding between them either. Gilbert is the only Bull member that doesn't have any backstory not even on how he lost his eye.
But I wanna go with he's Cedric's best friend from his younger years and went with Cedric after when Cedric found out there was no land for him to rule and ranway. Cedric is never shown being flat out cruel to his soldiers.

Of course nowadays Lego just make one story for a theme and it's the canon one. Just look at Ninjago. Cedric never actually seemed to show any interest in Leo's daughter Storm. So there was no Cedric Vs John going on to win over Storm. He used her as a hostage in a couple of stories but never anything involving around trying to marry her. Also I noticed that Cedric never once mocks Storm for being a girl who wants to wear armor and wield a sword like a man so I guess his homeland let girls be fighters.
It's like in Mulan where Shan Yu didn't give a crap about that he was bested by a woman and was just furious in general about that she'd killed his army.
Leo on the other hand clearly has a problem with Storm's decision and is a ''Armor and fighting is unlady like for a princess'' guy.
Cedric isn't your typical prince charming but he isn't your typical power hungry monster that just wants to rule for the sake of power. He just wants to be like what his 12 older bros got to be: A ruler of his own land instead of being an unspecial nobody.
He's more of an anti-hero or anti-villain instead of a straight up villain in my lore.
