I am shocked but pleased that the British study Steinbeck! I mean, frankly, 90% of what is worth studying in English literature was already written by your people...even in our own English lit classes, we focus on Dickens, Shakespeare, Austen, etc., not the Americans! But Steinbeck is a gem. Of Mice and Men still brings a tear to my eye, especially if performed. Grapes is great, of course. East of Eden I am not as much a fan of. What do you read of his?
It's a small gift of appreciating your art. That you choose to share your art is magnanimous. It's a small way to hopefully make more cosplay worth your while. FF7 has a fantastic story with fantastic characters, and Tifa is art.
I've never had someone offer dedicate something to me except by a student (I am a professor at a university)! I am excited to see what you have in mind...
OK, fav Tifa cosplay. Tricky, but I refuse to do a cop-out and give several. Favorites have to be an elite. Drum roll please...
OK, slight cop-out, a tie. "Attempting to be voluptuous" is one. For one, I am most partial to the original outfit, if only because that's the context in which I knew her. I am always going to be partial to that one. Hence, for an attractive woman to model while in that outfit already gets points. Two, you have subtlety in the photo for how you portray yourself. Subtlety is key to true sexiness. Subtlety can be in a look of the eyes, a gesture of the arms, etc. It's one thing for a girl to have an attractive body; it's a very different matter be attractive most generally. Girls are more attractive in how they use what they have, not what they have. The look of your eyes and reach toward the hair is very subtle, very natural, and very sexy. The natural part I emphasize in particular; believable is good.
Tied with that photo is "A little too Pale" for a few reasons. The biggest is that it is a new representation of Tifa and so consistent. It's new and therefore interesting, and yet, for qualities I don't think I fully grasp, it seems to fit with her character so well. Just wearing a bikini and saying "I'm Tifa" wouldn't easily work; that outfit feels like it works for some reason. I think going along with that is your body language. Your body language is so very Tifa. The hand behind the back is shows modesty/shyness in demeanor, which obviously fits the character. The fingers of your left hand in the photo are sprawled rather naturally and randomly, which works well with the rather sedate, distant gaze of your eyes. It implies you're somewhere else mentally, which I would argue is Tifa throughout FF7 (strong inner emotions and longings kept quietly). That your hand is somewhat randomly held but naturally fits that looking elsewhere quality, that she/you is/are very introspective. The long hair is beautiful. Candidly, your hourglass figure is a model of what Western beauty strives for in women; physically, you are extremely attractive which only enhances all of the other elements that make the photo very "Tifa."
I do not know how hard it is to have the smile you have in that photo. It's not a smile, but it is. It would be impossible for me to duplicate a male version of Tifa's countenance. She is not bubbly, cheery; she is not scowling; it is a distinct sort of visage I don't know how to describe, but it fits the introversion and shyness. I don't know a word for it. I am a bubbly person, so I appreciate how hard it is to have that kind of look.
I could write lots on many of your photos, and would be happy to write such things in a private note here or there over time; this is a reflection of the fact that I can read meaning into very casual, unintended actions, and like to dissect things into many pieces.
