Hello!!! I looked on your youtube channel and found your Morrigan tutorial (which i also commented on before I saw you had dA haha) and found it SUPER useful, and already finished my cowl, but I also need more fabric for the hood.
I just was wondering if you could give me any base idea on what to do with the necklace/skirt/shoulder arm thing.
It'd really help me a lot, it's hard to find some good tutorials sometimes

I'm currently remaking it (on a bit of a hold because I'm searching for jobs at the moment, and failing so I get sad and don't want to work on cosplay lmao), Β so my hope is to have videos for each part soon. But for now, I'll give you a basic run-down of how I did my original stuff.
The necklace was interesting. I made the top necklace out of a strip of vinyl (in a circular shape) that I covered in painted shrinky-dinks. Super weird, right? This time I'll be using Worbla or Wonderflex, but you could use pretty much anything. I just glued the pieces to the vinyl necklace. I was going more off the in-game version here. The big "charm" and the beads I made with clay. I just freehanded a design and played around until the big "charm" seemed to be the right size. I just drew it out on posterboard and kept cutting until it looked right. Then made it with clay lol I had it all strung together with invisible string, since that part of the necklace is kinda floating there.
The skirt, I honestly barely remember how I made it lol That's so weird. I think I started out with a leather belt I had been wearing for a while. You know how your belts start to curve after a lot of use (if you use belts...lol)? It's conforming to our rounded hips. So I traced that shape and basically just measured how long I wanted the upper section to be (the vinyl looking part in my photos). I basically did the same for the lower part of the skirt, too. If you don't have a rounded belt, you could probably trace the curve on a pair of pants or something. It just can't be straight. I ended up putting in an invisible zipper onto the lower skirt part, and the upper skirt part wrapped around to cover it. Then I had it velcro closed at the back. All the fastenings were invisible, it was pretty cool (I'm so proud of that xD). The belts were just free hand cut, then sewn on. I sewed them on with my machine and just made a box with an X through it, if that makes sense, with the tread. So it was super secure. Now, I had the straps all pinned on nice and straight, so I ended up slicing myself a ton with the pins, so be super super careful if you do that xD I put the skirt on my dressform and pinned them on. I didn't want to have to keep redoing that step, so I just pinned them all on. Sooooo many pins.
The sleeve was fairly easy but not very professional lol. I just found a sleeve pattern from some random pattern I had and just made it. I made sure the shoulder curve went up high enough, though. I attached the pauldron (feathery shoulder thing) with hot glue (it stays on still!) and ended up having to use double sided tape to stick it to myself. I might try invisible straps somehow this time, or spirit gum since it's stronger.
I hope that made sense and wasn't way more information than you needed lol. Keep checking my channel in the next couple of months for when I finally start posting more Morrigan tutorials xD

the skirt i kind of planned to look around thrift stores to find a base one and edit it and such because i don't really have a good idea how to make a skirt and such Β (even though i have a pattern omg) and kinda planned to go from there.
and im assuming you made all the belts then?? that sounds probably easier then my plan to go buy some and cut them up (im not made of money haha)Β i was thinking of using worbla for the necklace and pauldron my self as well!!

Yeah, if you can alter something you find, that's cheaper than buying the fabric xD So I hope you find something good! Yes, I made all the "belts" by cutting the vinyl into belt-like strips. I'll be doing the same thing with teh remake, but using a few different kinds of black leather to give it some variation. And with "real" belts, they're usually super thick and harder to sew on. I'm glad all my rambling made sense xD
