RoyoVi In reply to Kiro-Shinigami [2014-04-27 12:05:08 +0000 UTC]

I love them <3 I rely on them the most, it's really rare to see good traditional artists these days

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kiro-Shinigami In reply to RoyoVi [2014-04-27 13:15:49 +0000 UTC]

Trad is a dying trade but Im gonna keep it alive a @ if many do this too then people that make pencils and paints never will be redundant. Digital is amazing I love it too but a good pencil and brush art is like eyegasm XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoyoVi In reply to Kiro-Shinigami [2014-04-27 13:20:02 +0000 UTC]

I know.. I really hate it when people, especially in gaia don't consider traditional art as a high quality and price it low while you know traditional art is really a lot of effort and maybe even more than digital, and costs even more because of the art supplies prices @.@ I know my gallery mostly show digital art but I do draw everyday with pencil and pencil colors, they are just easy to carry anywhere and they help me practice a lot since I can't use my laptop and tablet all the time, I have been meaning to try watercolor pencils sometime but once I make the time xD

I use copics and gel pens myself. ^w^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoyoVi In reply to Kiro-Shinigami [2014-04-27 13:27:29 +0000 UTC]

do you recommend them? I have been thinking for a LONG time to buy them but I am really afraid they will dry fast when I use them, besides they are kinda expensive D: I am thinking about buying sets from amazon, and is any type/weight of paper is good for them?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kiro-Shinigami In reply to RoyoVi [2014-04-27 13:38:56 +0000 UTC]

I swear by them. They are the only thing I ever use a @ They make such amazing colors happen. The paper to use for markers is called either Dahler and Rowney marker pads pick A4. or Letraset marker pads or Copic Marker pads. the paper is Acid free and bleed proof so you can color without the marker fluid bleeding through the sheet.

The fine liners I use are from the brand Steadler. Amazing for anything!! a @

The color effect pens are Stabilo the Swan kind that have a felt tip and come in about 12 colors or more (( Not cheap))

My white pens are Sakura Gel roller balls.

Markers are not cheap one bit a @ but worth it!

RoyoVi In reply to Kiro-Shinigami [2014-04-27 13:45:06 +0000 UTC]

thank you so much for the info I am definitely considering them, along with owning watercolor pencils, I will probably see if I can start practicing on them this summer holiday, I will buy from amazon, atm I am just busy irl with work so not so much time to draw, I just doodle sometimes traditionally but that's all ;w;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kiro-Shinigami In reply to RoyoVi [2014-04-27 13:49:06 +0000 UTC]

No probs. Been trad drawing all my life and have been drawing with markers since 2002. 12 years of marker training and I still need practice XD markers are if used well more amazing than the digital colors. You cannot tell the difference anymore with some arts.

You should get a starter kit. ^w^ OOH and also the marker paper is for tracing the lines. you draw the sketch on rough paper and the marker paper is semi transparent so you can trace the lines in perfect crispness. Also the tracer pens dont bleed or blend and are permanent.

RoyoVi In reply to Kiro-Shinigami [2014-04-27 14:00:27 +0000 UTC]

I have been doing traditional all my life but I didn't use other medias a lot like markers so I really need to practice but I think I should do fine with some intense practicing, and yeah I seen some markers art all over DA and it's really amazing sometimes I can't tell the difference between it and digital art because of how good it is <3

omg tracer pens would be sweet, yeah I really hate when my inking lines blend with colors and look all bad D< I will highly consider them with my next amazon shopping xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kiro-Shinigami In reply to RoyoVi [2014-04-27 14:04:47 +0000 UTC]

remember Steadler or UNI are the brands I use and many others do. They are the finest of their kind.

Heheheee perhaps when i have the time ill do a tutorial on skin blending with markers. Just to show how to make it look like its SAI or PS colored.

I will remember that., I will note down all the supplies you mentioned for me before I do my amazon shopping xD

and please do, it will definitely help me cause I will be all new to these markers I will need a lot of help :3 I will probably progress step by step

Kiro-Shinigami In reply to RoyoVi [2014-04-27 14:15:36 +0000 UTC]

Not a problem. If I can help I will. I will on my next art try and restrain myself with coloring it all in one day and color it step by step uploading the progress. (( I just get to wanna draw so badly I dont stop XD))

RoyoVi In reply to Kiro-Shinigami [2014-04-27 14:21:23 +0000 UTC]

that would be lovely and I will make sure to contact you before I buy them and once I try them I hope you don't mind helping me with every step I really want to get better with my art traditionally and digitally "and even mixed media if ever"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kiro-Shinigami In reply to RoyoVi [2014-04-27 14:39:23 +0000 UTC]

I mix mine. Only the BG's i do with color fades and brushes if i can. otherwise I hand draw them too.

Not a problem. ^w^

yeah I noticed that in your art, it's really nice and a lot of mixed media art is nice too but I guess some people avoid it because it's too much work for one piece ;w;

and thank you again, I really do appreciate it <3
