After doing some research, people are saying it could be a carpenter bee.
I was hoping it's just a cicada that got stuck, but the noise kept coming from
the same spot and it's been a little over a week, making me think it could be
a nest.  I've got a can of Raid ready (and put duct tape over what I think
could be the other side of where it's digging) in case it decides to pop out and
say "hi".

I'd rather it be a mammal really, like a squirrel or something that doesn't have a stinger. (The cats would lose their sh*t. )

I can't tell if it's still digging, and apparently there's a lot of maintenance when it comes to clearing and preventing nests.
There weren't any holes on the side of the house, but it seemed like there were these smaller openings right below the
gutter on the roof. Not sure whether they lead to the attic or if it's accessible from there.

Which one? I've been doing a bunch of random things here and there since then:

I uploaded my first mod (not my actual first, that was New ADX) to Game Banana, Which merged a few mods I made into one for convenience.

The netbook didn't like Heroes too much.  I might try it under XP later, though SADX was still a bit laggy. (The old desktop ran a bit faster under XP than 7, so I tried installing it to the netbook and lo and behold. Apparently, I have 384 MB of video memory compared to 256 when under Win7. [The battle intros from Pokemon Stadium 2 no longer lag. ])

It isn't too different from RBY appearance-wise, though it's still in Japanese.

The Sonic Heroes videos are 1080p 60FPS, so you may not be able to watch them as intended either way...

I might've mentioned it already, but my TV refuses to play 1080 60fps videos, even if it's homemade.
Even weirder is it throws the "DRM" message when it's either incompatible or damaged.

Huh, weird.

BTW, Sonic Mania v1.04 is running a new version of Denuvo that is so overly-bloated that it slowed down my laptop to the point that I was experiencing crashes, and it caused a flag with my PC Health and Performance. My Core i5 was running slower than a Pentium III. Deleting the game sped everything back up again. Mods aren't worth the performance dip, So, I'm sticking with may Xbox One and Switch Versions.

I actually had a bit of looking around myself.  I don't know if it actually halts Denuvo or just goes around it, but somebody "made" a version about a day ago. They said it was only for 64-bit systems, but that might've been something else.
