yeah Daishi scare me though I tell you fighting in the solaris championship on mechwarrior 4 mercenaries with only a shadowcat is terrifying, I made it out victorious but I was missing and arm and a leg I was expecting assault mechs to do the most damage as they typically have longer range weapons and could hit me while I was running towards them but I managed to dodge everything and just loop around the terrain, it was the medium and heavy mechs with missiles.

If I have to chose mechs I usually go for the cougar, shadowcat, vulture(mad dog), madcat Mk 2, light - assault.

Agreed, those are tough machines, especially Mad Cat, as it is the only 90+ ton mech to perform "Death From Above". Later I switched to Hauptmann when I learned it can wield 3 Thunderbolt missles And Nova Cat full of clan flamers is pretty good in duels, isn't it?

ahaha yeah, DFA is always fun, I have never tried landing on some mechs face in mechwarrior games though... I'm going to try that now

I pretty much suck eggs in anything bigger than a medium mech with the exception of the Vulture and Nova Cat on occasion, especially the assault mechs, I just cant fathom the idea of letting yourself get hit by things. Course I do love the idea of being able to take out some heavy mechs and below with one blast.

As for Nova Cat with flamers I dunno, I am not a huge fan of flamers as they tick me off when others use them

For aerial tactics just duel some heavy mech and lift while in frontal attack; until you hit it straight from above - you're going to make his torso flash if you succeed. There is also a possibility of flying whole time - create a lightly armed cougar with minimal armor and strong engine and you'll soar above choppers
And be also sure to try a madcat mk1 full of ER Large Pulse Lasers with weapon hit turned off. You'll be able to beat any mission without support lance.

haha yeah I totally tried DFA with a shadowcat vs timberwolf and I managed to hit him smack in the chest, did a bit of damage

As for the mad cat I will give that a shot.

You're welcome, I've always been a huge battletech fan, sadly I wasn't part of the tabletop generation, only taste of that I get is from megamek

Definitely love your sketches. I have to say though the Shadowcat is my favorite mech of all time
