Your comic is freaking intense! I really love it so far. I'm honestly really surprised to see that you don't have more views; seems like front page material to me.

Hello Sarakpn its me again. The crazy guy. And wired fan, which is bassically what a fan is. Anyway just wanted to say thank you, the Andrew Loomis book you recommended is actually helping me! Still can't draw but the book does help me understand perspective and anatomy. The only issue I have is that some of the stuff in it is really complicated, for me at least, like I some how missed a couple of steps before it. Maybe its because I don't know much about drawing but anyway just wanted to say thank you. You the best and I hope you don't think i'm a psycho! I'm actually just insane.

Not really. I mostly just look at artists I admire and try to figure out how they do it. People I learn from are Stjepan Sejic , Alex Ross (he paints superheroes) and Matt Busch www.youtube.com/user/mattbusch… But it's easier to figure out how they do it when you have some basic knowledge and skill yourself. I don't use books a whole lot. I prefer to watch and learn.

It doesn't matter. Try out everything and see what feels most pleasant. Some things, like watercolor, you might wanna look up a tutorial first to learn the technique. But if you got a pencil and paper, you're good to go. A pen is even better. Can't erase stuff. It forces you to draw with minimum mistakes. If you develop the skill, the tool barely matters. It may affect the look of your drawing, but it won't make you improve any faster (unlike what most people think), trust me. Don't buy the expensive stuff, unless it's the only way to achieve a certain effect.

hey its me again. the really fan who wont shut up. and is annoying. A Lot. i was wondering if you could give me some more advice. can you tell me some good exercises to help me draw the basics of a human body like how to draw head arms ribs torso etc etc. so that I can eventually work my way up to drawing in detail and drawing my own characters. though I still probably stink. and be annoying, which is not a good combo

Let's see, let me break it down into steps.
1) Learn the basic proportions and anatomy of a human. You best find some books by Andrew Loomis. He's done multiple "how to draw humans" and he's VERY good. You can search for pdf files in google. Look for figure drawing by Andrew Loomis.
2) If you can, do some life drawing classes or go out in public. That's the best way really. Drawing real humans in real life. Should be easier once you've done step 1. You can also just look up nude pics. DA is full of those XD Start with naked people so you learn how the body works. Only after that you switch to clothed humans.
3) Another thing that really helps it figure drawing at a time limit. There are websites where you can do this. Draw human poses in 5 minutes, 1 minute etc. That way you focus on the overal form and posture and you don't get distracted by details (like everyone does in the beginning). It's VERY important to master the basic forms first before doing the details, like individual hairs and stuff. Drawing in public will get you the time limit AND life drawing all in one
Additionally: Finding some books on cartoons and animation really helps too. They exaggerate in poses, but you will learn to get fluidity and movement into your drawings. Look for a book by Preston Blair, who animated for Disney.
Also, practice your perspective! There's absolutely no getting around it! As long as we live in a 3-dimensional world, EVERYTHING will be in perspective. Andrew Loomis' books will cover that too.
Lastly, don't rush it and be patient. It will take A LOT of practice, maybe years before you get what you want. Do some very slow drawings, focusing on every curve and detail, but also do the fast loose drawings that capture gesture and pose. If you do this every day, you'll see improvement within a month.
That's about it. Good luck
