Np! I hope this doesn't sound pushy or anything, but do you take point commissions?

SarahSatrun In reply to Melodraca [2015-09-29 03:35:34 +0000 UTC]

No, sorry. I'm closing my commission list until December or January due to work. What is a "point" commission?

Melodraca In reply to SarahSatrun [2015-09-29 04:17:59 +0000 UTC]

Ah okay, thanks for telling me ^-^ A point commission is just a commission paid for with DA's point currency

LOL. I probably don't have the time due to work and gearing up for a convention, but it's a funny suggestion.

MamuEmu In reply to SarahSatrun [2012-06-02 20:51:13 +0000 UTC]

I'm currently studying at University of Cincinnati, in the Electronic Media program! Right now I'm doing most of my work in Adobe Flash, but I wish to use traditional means once I'm out. Thanks as well! ^-^

Cool! Good luck with that!

If you want to get into more traditional animation in a studio system, I would highly recommend learning Toon Boom Animate Pro. LOTS of studios are dropping Flash (except game studios) and pushing everyone to use Toon Boom Harmony. Toon Boom Animate Pro is the highest you can get and very, very close to what the studios use. You can also do a lot of Flash type animation. Please let me know if you want more information on it.

Thanks so much! I have been meaning to try out Toon Boom after seeing all of the work people use it for. I actually would prefer to work with traditional means rather than just Flash mostly because I don't enjoy Action Script at all.

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't see this and haven't been here much. I would highly recommend downloading the free learning edition of Toon Boom Animate. I own Toon Boom Animate Pro at home and we use Harmony in studio. Most people are going away from Flash and so am I. Here are the online tutorials: [link] You can get the free trial versions here: [link]

MamuEmu In reply to SarahSatrun [2012-07-10 16:01:20 +0000 UTC]

It's okay! Things happen! ^-^ Oh awesome! Thank you so much for the links! So Harmony is more for studio work I'm assuming or could I just use Pro for everything?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SarahSatrun In reply to MamuEmu [2012-07-11 18:34:05 +0000 UTC]

Harmony is for studios because it's very expensive. Animate Pro is VERY close to Harmony, except for some extra bells and whistles. Obviously, I really love Harmony more, but I can get by using Animate Pro for other freelance at home. You should start with watching online tutorials, download the trial, and then buy it whenever you're at the point of really needing it. Watch for a sale though. Do not buy full price. There are always sales.

Ah I see! And I shall keep my eye out for sales. If the trials work out for me, I would definitely love to get it! ^-^
