# About me

I'm a full time college student with a part time job:) I'm going for a BS in Biology.
Ever since I was young, I always loved and admired art with its many forms. I would spend hours upon hours observing the little creatures that would pass by my yard and try to draw them. I mostly did digital and traditional art but recently I've had an obsession with wire art.

I loved them so much that I decided to make my own! I started practicing with my hard wire I used for art projects since I didn't have the proper wire for jewelry making. However, I finally got some for Christmas in 2013 and I rapidly began making my very own wire wrapped jewelry! They're not the best but I work very had to perfect them and care for them like precious jewels.

Most of my trees, or other wire wrapped crafts, will be related to animals, specifically birds, and nature. However, I will throw in favorite anime/manga, games, movies, symbols, music, or anything that catches my eye into the mix!Follow me here (or the following links) for future exclusive sales and discounts!:

Hello, I just looked at my posting of the ring I had described, but It either didn't photograph well or was polished away, You can see proper examples online if you look up the product, sorry.

I'm working on a wire sculpture dragon rite now for my sister for Christmas, after that I think I'm going to make another gem tree for my mom before I go back to sculpting another dragon skull but who knows what I'll really get in to next.

SerenityWireDesigns In reply to shadeslaire [2016-12-03 15:10:01 +0000 UTC]

I'm the same way I need to make a list of things I want to make so that when I feel like making something I won't forget lol
I'd make one for my mom but I feel like it's too late at this time to gather all the materials and my sisters wouldn't appreciate it as much as my mom lol

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-12-03 16:53:15 +0000 UTC]

My problem is I jump from one project to the next, without completing the previous. I have five or six now that I've started and never finished!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityWireDesigns In reply to shadeslaire [2016-12-03 19:08:37 +0000 UTC]

I'm the same way! I try to finish them while I'm feeling inspired at the moment but when I stop, I don't finish them until much later. That or I get busy with schoolwork and then don't feel like working with the project I was doing at that moment

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-12-04 01:21:14 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I will get back to them eventually. Some have been years though!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityWireDesigns In reply to shadeslaire [2016-12-09 02:11:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I know what you mean! I mean I don't normally take forever with wire projects but with other projects I've neglected for a few years now

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-12-09 02:24:39 +0000 UTC]

Most of the wire sculptures I've done have been pretty small, but one of my first projects has been put off for a long time now! It's a dragon, but he is around ten feet long from nose to tail. I started it using wire hangers, secured with thin copper wire. I was thinking about using overlapping dimes for scales, and sheet copper wings. I have hundreds of hours tied up in it. I'll work on it for a few weeks, and then will not touch it for months, or sometimes years.

Wow really
I've been working on a polymer clay sculpture for a year now...well I have 2 I was working for a year now and I just found both yesterday. I had to throw one away unfortunately because it was all messed up. I should probably try to finish the one that survived

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-12-15 18:19:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I have had some of my partially completed projects ruined too, because I did not store them securely.  It's heartbreaking to find a piece you have put so much time into destroyed!

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-10-15 21:04:20 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, It wasn't too hard to do. I don't think you would have any trouble creating your own. I did experience a lot of breakage due to over twisting and shaping especially when I got down to manipulating single strands.

Ah
I need to find a rock or some sort of stand to put it on. I haven't decided on whether I should make a realistic type of tree or a fantasyish kind.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-10-29 01:01:38 +0000 UTC]

I was going for a small ornamental style tree for my first one but would like to try different types in the future.
I found some sites online for stone chips at a reassonable price under gem tree supplies but I need to find some pretty base stones too. You could use a wood base and glue small stones to it, small colored aquarium stones might work.

SerenityWireDesigns In reply to shadeslaire [2016-12-03 15:04:01 +0000 UTC]

That sounds like a great idea! It would look more "fantasyish" for the fantasy look I'd like to do eventually
Maybe I'll start by making a bonsai tree then branch out to other kinds of trees. Maybe a willow tree too

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-12-03 16:41:38 +0000 UTC]

I just recently found some nice base stones at an indoor flea market near my town, but they are fairly expensive. Ranging in price from thirty to fifty dollars. There are three or four vendors selling pretty nice ones, but I haven"t purchased any yet. Hopefully the ones I like will still be there when I have the extra money.
I've always liked bonsai trees, and willows. I thought about trying one myself. I would like to see yours when you finish it.

SerenityWireDesigns In reply to shadeslaire [2016-12-03 19:11:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah stones can be fairly expensive! I haven't found any at the flea markets around here yet. Idk if you do online shopping but on instagram I follow shops that sometimes put their stones on bid or on sale for a cheap price! I usually miss their deals or don't have the money to be spending on them

You should definitely try making them too! Hopefully during this winter break I can start working on building my tree

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-12-04 01:18:18 +0000 UTC]

I'm reluctant to buy stones online as I like to see and feel them in person, and it's hard to accuratley guage there size from a picture. I just don't trust it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityWireDesigns In reply to shadeslaire [2016-12-10 17:54:14 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I guess that's true. I was reluctant too for the longest time but I couldn't find places locally that would sell them. I might just not be looking hard enough

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shadeslaire In reply to SerenityWireDesigns [2016-12-10 23:09:23 +0000 UTC]

I guess I'm just lucky, I seem to find them when not even looking for them. I've passed up a lot because I didn't have a use for them at the time, or the extra money. They can get pretty expensive.
