# About me

I love living life to its fullest. I love anything to do with art and crafting.

I love all crafty things, I guess that makes me a jack of all trades.

I used to work at a specialty and ER small animal veterinary clinic as a surgical and general hospital assistant.
I SERVED A MISSION for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in California.

I love learning and will never stop learning till the day I die.

My Future Husband a very nice and wonderful young man I have had the pleasure to know and love.

I love to cosplay, why? because it lets me use all my talents in one place as well as learn many more along the way.
Most important on that note: I Firmly believe it should never define who I am, or be used as a way to escape life, but to be used as inspiration to show the world what can be made from raw materials.

what I do learn from cosplay, I teach at local conventions so that others can enjoy what I love to do too. KIMONO"S TOO!!!!!! Got to love that art from japan.

Current Residence: "in The top of the mountains" Hint.... Indian word.

Favorite Art Program: Toss up between photoshop CS5 and Painter 2016... leaning towards the latter.

Hi fellow Kya Dark Lineage fan,

There's a person who's very talented out there who wants to create a Kya game. He made a 3D Kya model etc. Gameplays of his work can be found on the Kya Dark Lineage Fanclub group: www.facebook.com/groups/499738… If you don't trust this link then that's fine, you can search it by name: Kya Dark Lineage. He also has a Tumblr website with his commentary: kyadarklineage2.tumblr.com

Please, join this group and leave a comment. He deserves the praise for his hard work. With this we can let the community grow. Maybe we can get a sequel someday after 15 years. Thank you in advance!

Best regards!

No, just competitive costume/onstage performance. Mostly just for fun costuming and meeting new people and teaching what I learn in classes at conventions. Not all that interested in role play or larping though.

ShiningForceKaya In reply to LysanderxX [2013-11-01 12:42:08 +0000 UTC]

That's a tough question, it would be xillia and a very close second abyss.
abyss was my first tales of game, I loved the story, the characters were lovable, and it always kept me guessing. very long game play.

Xillia however was much more true to life, it felt more relatable with it's human issues, it has two storys to play rather than one long one.
Another thing was the characters felt real and you had feelings for them.... not to mention that in the very short time you meet many characters and you felt so sad when they died.... the death count in this game matches that of lord of the rings or something. I guess it would be all thanks to one part of xillia in judes story that just felt so surreal, yet you completely where sucked into the moment, it reminded me of tsubasa. it was so artfully done, it amazed me. After the battle ( I lost and won one and found that winning gets the best ending, losing doesn't, thankfully I won the first time or it wouldn't have been the same) I was in utter tears it was so good.
I immediately called up my friend (who got me into tales of) and was balwling over how good that part was... she played milla's story and was just, Wha..... Am I missing something, i don't get it, why are you and everyone else so emotional about this one part of the story. What happened.. oh wait, don't spoil. (her side was boring at that same point)

the other thing I liked was a bit of character customization.... elise with wings and elf ears is so cute, although jude with a black shiba tail is also amusingly cute. I was having fun. It has a treasure chest of sorts hunt that you get items from and many regular quests get you items as well to play with. The enemy's felt more unifed than in gmaes past (that I have played) Overall well done game, but rushed. I guess that's becasue to experiance it all you have to play it four times. Defiantly a fun game and when you get a moment to play and doesn't drag on game.... like abyss did.

LysanderxX In reply to ShiningForceKaya [2013-11-14 06:57:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I am really enjoying Xillia. From what I've heard about the two stories, there's really a reason to play both. Some games, like Star Ocean 2, there's almost no reason to play as one vs. the other; just a different avatar while walking around the whole game, and there's a point where one of two people join your party depending on who you are playing as. I'm wondering who might die now… Interesting that a particular battle will continue, win or lose, with different results. I agree, the characters seem real. I first thought Milla would be stoic in how she talked to humans, like she first appeared to be, but she's actually quite funny and is very good about dealing with the human condition, like how she enjoys having a cold because she never had one (I suddenlt think about why we're here on Eatch, to learn and grow, and we should appreciate our afflictions and sad times like the apostle Paul who rejoices in such states. I haven't quite gotten to that point in my mind every time something unpleasant happens, though). I really like Jude as a person. Elize is different from other kids in games in the way that she acts like a kid. I really like Alvin's laid back attitude and how he seems to bother Jude whenever he puts his arm around Jude's shoulders. Leia is somewhat bothersome. I also really like the way they did the leveling up with distributing points just the way you want them. I'm glad Michael noticed what Arte in everyone's web allowed a Mystic Arte because while I like seeing new Artes, I only really use a couple of Jude's Artes out of the ones I have so I don't usually get new ones unless they sound cool, and his Arte that allows for the Mystic Arte didn't sound that cool, but Jude was the only one without that certain skill which made us realize that one I didn't care about was it. Turns out I really like the skill, and Jude's Mystic Arte seems to be the strongest out of the few we've seen so far.

Unfortunately, I couldn't really get into Abyss… I couldn't care much about any of the characters, and while Michael said the game and characters all get more interesting about 2/3 way through the game, I didn't want to play so long to start liking the game. But I know Michael and many other people like you have it as one of their favorites, and that's good.

Others I've played…more than I would have guessed when I name them all in my head. I was never interested in Tales of Destiny 1 for some reason, though Michael liked it. We own Tales of Symphonia 2 but haven't gotten around to playing it. Michael owned Abyss for years, but never actually played it until he got it on DS . Anyways, the ones I've played:
1. Tales of Eternia (It's labeled Tales of Destiny 2 on PS1 in America, but it's not Tales of Destiny 2). My first Tales game, and it's a good one. The PSP version is exactly the same as PS1, except portable, and oddly only available through import from Europe (if you want the game in English), unless you could find it on Ebay or something. The first four characters are the only ones worth having in the party, and the only one I ever played was Reid, except for the brief part of the game where you get a swordsman with similar but much cooler skills. One is actually Dragon Swarm like Alvin has, but Alvin's is way different. Also, unless you understand all of Reid's Mystic Artes, the final boss is literally impossible because when you beat it, you die, unless you know what you're doing. Also as point of interest, this is the first Tales game where Aifreed is mentioned, and you get some of his fancy toys. One of your group members is his granddaughter. You can fight two of Tales of Phantasia's main characters, and they are terribly strong.
2. Tales of Phantasia, for GBA. Good game for its time, and was the only game to feature voice acting and a fully vocal opening theme on SNES and GBA. Final battle takes for freaking ever to finish, and some people theorize that Tales of Symphonia is a prequel. Only Cless was really worth playing as.
3. Tales of Symphonia. Was my favorite Tales of game for years. I'm not sure why… Best music in the series, though. For some reason, while this is the first Tales game to feature battles on a 3D plane, you can only walk in strait lines. I liked playing as Lloyd and Kratos/Zelos (literally the exact same in play style). I think this is the first Tales game with skits.
4. Tales of Legendia. I really enjoyed the game. The main character is a martial artes fighter like Jude, but they fight nothing alike whatsoever. The female swordsman was the first swordsman in the Tales series to actually be somewhat unique from the rest. I wish I remembered more form the story since it was pretty cool. You see the ending credits roll by three times during the game…
5. Tales of Destiny 2. Great fun to play, loved the battles, and many of the characters. First tales game to reward you for playing on a higher difficulty. Known for Barbatos, the guy who cameos in Graces (And I think Zillia) arena who kills you painfully for using items. I don't think he does that in Destiny 2. Even though higher difficulties meant more experience, I had to lower the difficulty from hard to normal on BArbatos fight 2, and shortly thereafter to easy. This game is tough. Everyone has 100 SP the entire game, but you get it back quickly and no skill costs too much. Many fun playable characters, and Leon (from Tales of Destiny 1) is in the game renamed as Judas and my favorite to play as. Both Leon and Judas outfits are used for different people in Xillia. Game entirely Japanese only. Fun fact: While Judas wears his mask the entire game, if you go into his status screen while int eh menu right before the final boss fight, you can see he's finally gotten over his sins of the past and removed his mask.
6. Tales of the World something something. Not that great. All these games are about the same form what I hear, just meant to see characters from different games interact. It was funny, though, seeing Stahn from Destiny 1 and Senel of Legendia argue about which of their sisters is the hottest.
7. Tales of Rebirth. Terrible battle style.
8. Tales of Vesperia. One of the best. Both Michael and I love playing as many of the characters, and they all have great personalities. The story is different from other games in the way that there is no big bad evil for so much of the game. It's just a story to go through, a very interesting one. A couple of the characters have dark pasts, but they actually managed to get over it before you meet them. The monsters were some of the most colorful and interesting ones I've seen in a game. One of the things that's interesting in the story is that the main character's best friend is the kind of person who would usually be a main character with his rival doing things behind the scenes. Instead, you're playing as Yuri, the guy who does things behind the scenes that aren't necessarily always lawful. This is the first Tales game where the skits are really just fun or interesting stuff, no one always saying, "But let's get a move on," or something at the end.. Though to warn you if you get to play this game, use a guide for the side quests. Almost all are time sensitive, a few relate to cool costumes, a few are required for best weapons, all are very cool or amusing. I could go on for a while about this game. I've thought about attempting cosplay of Duke which would be so cool.
9. Tales of Graces. So many of the characters are fun to play. Richard was probably the one I liked most playing as, but I often switched between Asbel and Hubert to get their titles and new skills and stuff. Michael usually played as Sophie or Pascal, but he liked Cheria, too. Malik was usually the outcast . We made sure to become proficient and them almost master all the skills and stuff. I'd enjoy playing more of your unfinished game with you .

Yeah, I agree about playing both sides. I wonder if they made it shorter on purpose because You're supposed to play both which equals one whole game. I dunno.... All I know is that this game was rushed.
It's funny how you mentioned about milla, one summer for stake young women camp I WAY over packed and my pack was super heavy. Needless to say I slept wonderfully on the air mattress and tons of blankets I brought, but it was a three mile hike both ways up and down. The whole time I was concentrated on not falling down and thinking about my aching shoulders when I though about the pioneers and others that must have endured far worse things to help me keep moving onward. Latter when I got back (I went on ahead of everyone else and didn't stop all along the way because I wanted the hike to be over quicker) I became somewhat of a legend that summer.... The other girls behind me where so tired and sore that morning and HATED camping but seeing me go ahead with such a burden helped them get down the mountain and not give up.... many of the girls said that they would wait for a few hours for a ride down if need be, but that didn't end up happening. That hike taught me so much and to appreciate things more than just not to pack lighter next time, but I don't think I have the time for that now. Some times its the unintended mistakes or trials that we go though that teach us more than we think... especially when we think we have learned the lesson and wish to move on.
As for alvin, I had thought it was beacuse jusde didn't trust him after being so shifty and untrustable and that was alvins way of trying to say, "hey were pals, right? no hard feelings" and Jude just had an expresssion of "yeah right, you keep thinking that. Not working, move along" on his face.... however I learned from many other sources that it was something else entirely... I guess I just don't have a anime club spoiled enough mind to see things that way though.... still don't. I like my view much better.

That's too bad about abyss, maybe if you watched the anime it would be better? Either that or I have save files  and could sort of speed run though the first bit till it gets good and if you wanted you could play with me. I really like abyss and its characters, that and jade is the funniest character of all time!!! so many jokes of just him, good times...
That and I like how the character development happens in this game. DUNGEONS TAKE FOREVER, but that's what extra save files are for....

haven't played any others on other systems, but they sound fun. Especially vesperia, I hear a lot about that one in some of my friends rants on why America should get the ps3 version.....

Graces would definitely be fun to play with you. Been meaning to get the group together to help me with that, but they are busy with other things.... and other tales of games, just missed the graces boat it seems.

Ashram looks so cool! thanks for sharing. World cosplay summit, how does that not surprise me.....
That other cosplay is so cool looking, funny how this one introduced me to apoxie sculpt and getting into armor.... have yet to try it or get sintra to use.
Just think of this, you are never against others, but yourself... that and those people are master rank, your not quite there yet, be glad of that fact unlike myself.....

Haha, nice, air mattress. That's the way to camp! That's cool you can think of things like the Pioneers at times like that, using it for motivation to advance forward. Wanting to move quickly to get it overwith sooner sounds like what I would do XD. That's really cool you ended up motivating the others by your example. I think that such a trait would benefit you greatly on your missio with your companions. Also very good that you can lear from your own mistakes.

Yeah, I can see that with Jude and Alvin. Considering you say you learned the truth from other sources instead of figuring it out by playing the game, would that just be fans thinking it's some shonen-ai or something? Or is it actually something to do with the story?

I look forward to playing Abyss with you!

Vesperia is great. Too bad about how everyone's been too busy to play Graces since they've beaten it themselves. I was surprised when you first said you had not finished or gotten far at all, considering your Sophie outfit. Heh, that probably means you started playing over a year ago but have since been unable to play more. When I got home from my mission, I was too late for Halo 3 and Smash Bros. Brawl. Michael gladly played them with me which was very nice, but by then there was no one else to play either game multiplayer beyond story mode. Smash Bros 1 and 2 and Halo 1 and 2 were games my brothers, their friends, my friends, and me all played lots, just battling eachother, which was much fun.

That's a good way to think about making cosplay. Until master rank, I'm only challenging myself to do better than before. Heh, you are one of those people who people fear losing to, I'm sure. Maybe when you feel like taking a break and giving others more chance, you coild just not work as hard or not make 100% of the outfit, which would be like a break since it would be so much less work, and you would only qualify for intermediate .

Work tonight was pretty slow until 10 when the place exploded with people. I started this message before 10, but everyone was running around during the 2 hours of extreme business and the rest was cleanup and sidework like rolling tons of silverware (which I like doing). Fri/Sat night usually makes $1800 for the restaurant, but tonight we did $2500! Probably 1/2 of it in those 2 hours out of 9

ShiningForceKaya In reply to LysanderxX [2013-11-25 06:11:48 +0000 UTC]

With Alvin, That's what most others say, but like I said, I like my reason better. Yes I think that's what they said, shonen-ai... don't know what it means, but I think that's for the best...

It never really says as far as the story goes, it's left to interpretation, sorta like how tethering is mentioned... they never fully explain things thus leaving your imagination to fill in the gaps... dirty minds will be dirty, and for those like myself, it will most likely go over our heads.

I look forward to playing abyss with you as well, it's been awhile since I last played it, and technically I have never fully played through it, so hopefully I may just be able to now.

With graces, there was a different group that first cosplayed at matsuri and they were short one Sophie (they had her as an adult due to ease of hair, but no original Sophie to match everyone else) and that got me on the idea of her, then the group said they were cosplaying... but I didn't have graces at the time... or a PS3 to play with. Honestly, all I really know about her is what I know now... but I do know she has a thing for crab cakes.... still don't get it.

About being master... I can never go back to intermediate... once you rank up, your stuck there or you must go on (by choice or win twice)... till master that is. My only options now are, give it a rest and enter some year(s) latter, or purposely pick an easy/simple cosplay and enter knowing I most likely won't win. Going down a rank is also sandbagging, unsportsmanlike like (and demoralizing to some) to those in the said rank, and against the rules. (that's why Mercadies was freaking out being master this year, she one twice in intermediate and was then forced to enter master. I just bumped myself up last year because I felt it was the right thing to do... Sophie somewhat lost because of it, but that's OK. I'm glad I did it, it was more fair to everyone else that way and I might have won against mercedies... making her still intermediate this year.... and making everyone in that rank just about die inside. Who knows what could have happened...)

Sounds like my work as well... one moment (or almost all day) it is dead, them BOOM, the place is crawling with cases coming in for who knows what.

What is rolling silverware? (I wonder if it is anything like what I have to do with SX, turn around rooms and instruments...)

That's neat to hear. Most of my hospitals money comes from ER or the orthopedic SX's... although Dr. Rowley does get many cases for optho... but that's because she charges WAY less than everywhere else. I asked her once why, she said it's because she honestly didn't think it would be worth that much to pay (if she where a client), so she charges what she thinks is fair.

It's so weird the ideas people come up with. Just because two characters like each other, they must obviously be in love. Likewise, just because two characters hate each other, they must be in love. Yeah, I don't get it either.

Haha, that's interesting the way that all worked out. That's also nice of you to make a cosplay outfit mainly to support your friends, even if you don't know the character. As for crab cakes, it's like Alvin and Jude. Nothing really in depth to it, just a funny thing about her and how she really, really loves crab cakes!

Heh, Josh and I were talking about the way some people go to intermediate or beginner just because they know they will win because they are actually advanced cosplayers. That's funny Mercedes was scared to enter master considering she wan multiple awards. Make everyone in your rank die inside XD.

Heh, well, when a place like a veterinary clinic goes crazy busy, it could seem like the end of the world for some people. At my work, there are only occasionally people who think it's the end of the world, because getting food quicker than is possible to make a decent meal is important. Seriously, I wonder where some people eat, since some of them can get so upset over a 10 minute wait for food at a sit-down-restaurant. Fortunately, most customers are decent, some even being perfectly fine waiting 40+ minutes when the place is over packed for the number of servers and cooks. Rolling silverware is making it like you see in some restaurants where the utensils are rolled in a napkin, usually with a strip of paper around it to hold it together. Most people at my work hate rolling silverware, and even though it's the servers' jobs to do so, many get away with not rolling any because they know someone else eventually will because people need utensils to eat. I actually really enjoy rolling the silverware (though very few people know it) because it's a simple thing to do that fills spare time and gives me a good reason to sit down. I usually listen to my audio book quietly while rolling, pausing quickly whenever I need to stand to take cash and seat people .
What is SX? That's cool of Dr. Rowley to charge what she does. That sounds kind of like how Japan works: medicine and doctors are all regulated by the government, and it's all extremely inexpensive compared to here. Doctors are paid substantially less, but all doctors there love to be doctors and help people, and healthcare facilities are all top-of-the-line. Everyone goes for a checkup an average of 3 times per week, for free. CAT scans here that cost $2000 cost about $70 there. Is it any coincidence that Japan has the highest life expectancy?

Yep, dieing inside definately happens.. when I first saw you in line at the cosplay check in I felt like I was going to die inside.... either that or slink off and die in a hole. I thought, crap, another tales of character that is most likely in craftsmanship and therefore will stick out more than my character.... I'm doomed... well, I wasn't goting to win anyways, but now all hope is ofically lost. That and you were so tall which is perfect for richard and your outfit looked well made, you intimidated me at first... so I went to the other side of the room and filled out paperwork while in my Kobato cosplay and hoped you wouldn't recognise me as elise from seeing me earlier as kobato.... and yeah. I was pleased that I found out latter that you were so friendly and not upset like I thought you might have been. (many cosplayers from same serise and or characters tend to avoid each other while in the contset or they feel bad about their own outfit and sometimes even drop out altogether.... it happens)

really? I feel like the searvers at restrunt I go to with friends seem to breath down our backs or stalk us.... I like having pleanty of time to decide what food to order sometimes, especiallly with a group of friends I love talking with. I have no qualms wiating... except for when I'm with my moms side of the family and everyone is embaressing me with their not so well behaving children climbing all over and around me and what not at the christmas eve dinner. I want my food soon so I can leave soon XD.

Rolling silverwhare is just like wraping packs, I love doing that, I'm the best ever at it! some people hate it becasue they suck at it and refuse to get help from me or someone else.

SX stands for surgery, sorta like how RX stands for perscriptions.

That may be true, but it ony works their becasue everyone is VERY dependent and self thinking, everywhere else in the world is dependent.... I saw that same way of government run helthcare in canada, and everyone suffers their. Thats why americas medical heath is the best, but at a price. It sucks, but it's better than being on a waiting list like someone would for a transplant. People in other contrys die just waiting for what we can do here, just pay and get fixed, or their teeth rot out their mouth just waiting to be seen (thats partly why euripeans are known for bad teeth). The huge price difrence is due to government run agencys regulate the price and prevent any lawsuts for the doctor(and they can run malpractices), here doctors upp the price to keep themselves safe (meaning havving their needs met) from being sued, deal with medicare, medicade, insurence, and taxes.... the list goes on of the costs they have to dish out to others before they even see a penny. I have seen the workings of hospitals, both animal and human, and doctors get so much crap everyday, it's not worth it. That and the cost to go to school means they have to live in the poor house for the longest time.... it's no wonder why docotrs and techs have the highest seuicide rate anywhere you go!

Also CAT scans cost a ton becasue of the radiation and risk we techs undergo doing things and insurence... that and the machine mantinece is a ton as well. The cost of the parts to make are a ton too, cheaping out there is a real issue latter on. The CAT scan producing company has to dish out insurece costs and such as well and it trickes down to the cost of the machine, so when you get down to it.... lawyers have really made things cost way more than it needs to, that's what I have seen and decided.

Life expectancy has to do with how a person lives their life and their morals, being dependent on people forever lowers you life expanceany studies have shown,  being independent shows the opposite most of the time... if that makes any sense. Sorry if this all may come as a shock to you, but the media in america really lies to people a ton with everything in order to push false views on others, like making bad seem good. It sucks to seem like having the bad end of the stick in life, but from seeing things in my life, it's all in how you look at things and often you find you have it way better on your end.

Remember how you told me how competition helps with business, the same goes with medical things as well, if things go to government run medical like in other contrys, we will eventually end up like china... they rule everything about you to the point of wether your baby is satisfactory enough to live, meaning being born, if not(like if they have  evena slight deformation or possible mental disorder).... they force the mother into abortion. I never want to see that here, while in chinese class I found that out among other things. socilaised anything is horrible, but to the people who live with it, they know no better and in fact see it as supperior. It scared me so bad to think my teacher and all other chinese origonated chinese class teachers that came here to teach think the same way about even that issue. That's why I have educted myself about it.

Heh, must have been a surprise when I didn't win anything. I'm glad you didn't scamper away after the contest! I recall telling my brother I'd be back; I need to find that Elise! I seem to have an unusual mindset about things compared to most people, and I guess one of those things is seeing amazing cosplay. I can hardly wait to casually walk up to someone in a cool outfit. But I'm almost positive there are other aspects of similar situations that you are probably better with than me. And now you are taking photos with the enemy .

Haha, yeah, most people are okay waiting, as would be expected at a sit-down restaurant. I always need to take time to look at almost everything on a menu, even if I've been somewhere before. I haven't thought about it in the context of simply wanting to talk with good company, but that makes sense. Heh, you sound like you're good with kids, or maybe too nice. As a missionary, a rule is to not hold children, so I never picked anyone up, but I didn't care too much if the parents didn't, and some kids would crawl all over me.

Haha, well good work to you, then.

Dang, man, I didn't know socialised medicine cause that many problems. Very strange that nonresident get better treatment than residents. Heh, at least as far as suicidal techs go, you, fortunately, seem pretty stable.

Ah, it's like the price of the CAT scan is insurance. I had no idea they were so dangerous for the administrators. One of the problems with CAT scans is that they are just a part of the procedure for some things, whether nor not they are necessary. I don't remember if I had one when I had a kidney stone, but when my brother had his second one (the first was when I was on my mission, so, having had one, he knew exactly what it was; they are pretty unforgettable), I think all he wanted was some pain medication, but they wouldn't do anything without running the tests, the only two I know of for kidney stones being a urine sample and CAT scan. It may have something to do with liability and how if all the tests don't confirm 100% then they can't administer medication, but it's still a rediculous cost for something meaningless.

How you live your life is definitely a big part of it, for most people. Some people who chain smoke all their lives live a surprisingly long time, although that is uncommon. Some things like free doctor visits probably help some people get they help they need to live life better. Still, I know a person's morals and beliefs greatly affect how long they live and how healthy they are. And I know that dependency can ruin people. I saw a lot of that in NY, the many, many people on lifetime welfare and disability for a broken wrist (which happens there) can really ruin some people. They get slower and slower, and die sooner than people who actually try to live their lives. Of course, being able to depend on others can be necessary, and very difficult for some people. But I never have thought of America as a crappie nation, and I know I am very blessed to live in this country.

I don't scamper away much anymore because I have so many friends that I want to see and to congratulate. After most if not all contests, the dinner group also goes out to eat so I have to track them down and see where they are going and doing as well. Before I didn't have that.

I can relate with seeing great cosplays. I love chatting with them and asking how they did things and about their performance. Most of all I like tracking down cosplayers to take photos of them!

How am I better with similar situations and things?

HA XD, the enemy huh? that's one way of putting it.

Yeah, talking with people at a sit in restaurant is half the fun and half the reason for the trip!... at least it is that way for girls.

I wouldn't say I'm good with kids, my cousin Anna is that  person to a T. She always loves kids and babies and goes out of her way to hold all the kids and babies in the family, weather my aunts like it or not! For myself, I'm kind of intimidated by them, I've never had much experience around kids when they act abnormally. When my cousins walk over me I ask them to sit at their seat and behave, other than that, I'm at a loss.... usually they ignore me just as they ignore their parents. As a kid I gravitated to the parents tables and was interested in what they were, not other children, they never liked talking to me... but parents did (although they were annoyed by me as well and usually told me to go play with the other kids). I ended up learning to be quiet, out of sight, and listen in on their conversations.... it was like a fun game to me.

Yeah, I have to much life to live and try not to let things slow me down. If I hate it so much, I just go somewhere else and do something else. Suicidal tech usually have trouble seeing the good in life and give up too easily. They also may have many stresses and not so great work and home environments, have no support system in their life, and feel like life isn't worth living.

Sad part is that if someone really wanted to die, all they had to do is believe and want it! Like how I said sheep can just plop down and die if they have had enough, people do too. They don't call it the will to live for nothing. One time my tech teacher told us about a man who after his wife died was determined that there was no need to live on without her and life would never be joyful again. Even though he had a family of wonderful loving kids, a great job, and friends who cared, he still believed this to the core. He ate and drank plenty of good foods, never drank alcohol or anything like that, he even was still going to work and exercising as well. His children finally got so worried about him and his inner moping that they found some way of convincing him that that wasn't true and there was more to life to live for.... then he started having heath problems and went to the doctor. The doctor told him that he was suffering now from his body shutting down and preparing for death. His mindset over a month or so was starting his internal organs to slowly shut down and with in a few weeks would completely stop. He had gone past the point of return and was told to make funeral arrangements and spend the last few weeks with those he loved. It was his core belief that there was noting more to live for that killed him. Within that time that the doctor said that he did finally die.

Doctors and techs know all about death and ways of dying so they know multiple ways to end their life without much pain, most people aren't privy to that much information as well.

Yep, its the radiation. CT scans emit more radiation than X rays so we have to be careful and not get too much exposure. That's why we have badges that tell us how much we get exposed to and the company that examines those levels tells us if we need to change our helpfulness around the hospital to something else for awhile.

Geeze, that's no fun at all. Sounds like it runs in your family. I've heard that they are just as painful as child birth... or so says one of the techs at my work who gets on average 3 per 2 months time. She usually can be seen sitting on a chair with a heat warming pillow doing paperwork and anything that keeps her from walking around too much.

As for the reason for the urinalysis, they need to find out what is casing them to form so they can figure out how to prevent it better in the future, and the CT scan tells the doctor where it is, how big, how many, if there is another underlying issue or cause (the biggest reason) and to better evaluate a treatment plan. It is important, and X rays usually can't tell you that much if anything. It may not make sense to you, but for me it does and is really important, even if it is for a dumb cost. If it were something else, it would be a big problem, it could end up killing them or causing a serious infection, or putting them possibly into kidney and or renal failure... which will eventually kill you and is very unpleasant to live with until then. I have seen it before many times, it usually happens in cats this particular way. The surgeries that are used to help save them while they are teetering on the point of no return isn't pretty... lets put it at that . Even still they deal with many issues latter on and deal with so many medications.... its just better to be safe than sorry latter !

I agree, it is a blessing to live in america!

I have no specific reference for what you may be better at in similar situations. I was just mentioning it because I've noticed that, while everyone does things differently, I usually associate with people drastically differently than the way that other people associate with other people. Things that make most people uncomfortable don't phase me at all, and things that make me uncomfortable are entirely neglegable to other people.

All of my friends, male and female, also enjoy talking and staying a while at restaurants, so that's cool.
Im glad sitting alone and listening was fun for you. I think it would be sad for a lot of kids and adults. I didn't like sitting with other kids or my brothers or their friends and they didn't like sitting with me. Fortunately, none of the adults turned away kids from sitting at their table unless they got too rowdy, or I would have always just left somewhere to be bored or sad or something. It's not uncommon for parents to dislike sitting with the kids, from what I've seen at my restaurant, but I think it's sad.

That's very interesting about the guy who was ready to die, so his body became ready, too. As for ways to die and suicide, it's way too easy to not doe, in my opinion. People just end up an invalid for life instead of dying. I've even heard of people getting shot in the head and living! That alone is enough for me to not worry about killing myself even if I wanted to. So many peolle who fail at both life and death, I'd rather not take the chance. Although I have thought of some ways that I think would be more effective than the usual weirdo.

I would mot have guessed that CT is more radioactive than X-ray scans. And yeah, no fun at all. Some of the kidney stones people get are from genetics, but mostly from diet. I knew a guy who got one per month until he changed his diet, and while he still gets them, they come at less than one per year. A huge thing is carbonated beverages. I figure if I ever get one again, that will be the end of soda for me. As for me, I was one of the lucky few below the age of 21 that got a kidney stone that year; it's very rare for someone my age of 17. It affects people differently, too. Pretty much anything in the region of the pelvis. I remember just feeling some weird pain in my right side, and as it gradually got worse I stopped playing a game with my brother and said I was going to go lay down. Not too long after, my parents heard me whimpering and came out to see what was up, and they quickly rushed me to the hospital. And, man, if that's like childbirth, go for the epidural. Totally not worth that much pain. It's been many years since, and that was the last time I can recall crying from pain. I don't remember exactly how much or what it felt like, but yeah. Anyways, due to where it was, the doctor (that took like 5 hours to finally see; fortunately the anime Outlaw Star was on for the first hour) wondered if it was appendicitis. The thing that made him think kidney stone was that I said it was sort of moving around from my back to front, all on the right side. I wasn't feeling nearly so awful by the time I saw the doctor. I went for a urine sample and freaked out because of how obvious it was to me that something was terribly wrong, but I managed to calm down before going back to the room with the doctor and my parents. The expulsion of the stone wasn't nearly as painful as feeling it tear through my intestine. I say tear through because from how it looked and the report of "high levels of hemoglobin," that it didn't simply cause discomfort. Fortunately, the stone wasn't as big as someone I knew who needed it surgically removed.

But yeah, if it was something else. I'll tell you later (need to finish my drive home and sleep) about the amusing experience one of my accounting teachers had that kept him from teaching one day that ended with his appendix literally bursting while he was in the ER

Heh, interesting.... Ill take your word for it I guess.

Yeah, I've heard of that too. a tech that I had gotten to know suddenly told me one day that her EX husband shot himself in the head and survived after trying to scare her into liking him again... don't know what drama caused this all (nether did I what to know) but afterwards she now has PTSS from it. It does happen... meraculosly.... but if a person was smart they would think things through better and pick something that would kill them fool proof... but there will always be dummies out there. I just hope that those who do survive turn their life around and help others out in positive ways to help prevent others from doing the same.

Yep, the reason why is because an X ray just takes a photo of the object (sorta like a flash on a camera, that's the amount of radiation one gets exposed to... you can even hear it... which is done on purpose to let the operator know when the radiation is going on) With a CT scanner, it takes multiple photos (slides) and that gives us a 3D veiw of the subject (and that would be like a poperatsi photographer with their flash constantly going to get as many photos as possible, and not just one... and with the CT scanner, there are lights and a noise that goes on (that bugs me) while the radiation is going as well, and doesn't turn off till it is done scanning (which is why it is important you get one done with a newer machine that takes faster scans VS the older ones that take forever and expose you to more... most first models give you 5 - 20 min. scans... my hospitals takes 20 sec.... I really don't want to know how much that sucker cost ))

MRI scans don't have radiation VS CT scans... but it is WAY more expensive than a CT scan.... and can't help much with chest scans, cancer detection, or bones. But it does do brain scans and almost everything else excellently!

Goodness, that's awful! .... Although my bad cramps sound just like that, but they start and go away without any pain reduction or relief. The one thing that I do know is that it can't be Kidney stones or my appendix... or otherwise I would have known by now and things would have been different... and it happens on both sides simultaneously and don't move.... just one of the many perks of being a girl it seems.

Yep, that sounds very familiar, most doctors don't come in a timely manner... they take their sweet sweet time (just like the ones at my work)... happened with my mom with either me or my brother and the doctor was too late for the epidural... seems like it is that way for many mothers. Yep, that sound familiar... wouldn't surprise me if it did irritate and tear something along the way, thereby causing that.... reminds me of the time I ate a tortilla chip and did't chew all the way... oh man did it feel like it tore away at my trough... makes me cringe just thinking about it....

That's good to hear about it not being too big... I hope you never have to go through that again.

I can understand what that must have been like with my cramps at least.... they come and go, I just have to be patient, the first time it happened I cried so hard (although I was scared and worried that something as wrong and was too afraid to tell my parents and was worried what was going on) now I don't unless it hurts for a really long time and I'm tired. Almost all girls get them all the time, although not near as severely as I do on occasion.

If I could choose between having them moderate but almost all the time, or what I have now, I would stick with what I get right now. I can enjoy life more than most other girls... which they will let you know by their mood... learned that the hard way one time with a friend. since I don't get them normally it seems, I was upset with her moodiness and general lack of acting nice to me or anyone for that matter, then she snapped at me and outright told me the pain she was in(and some other not so nice things which were unnecessary, but then again she was moody and had cramps all day... which wares you down after a week of the constant low pain...) That's what tipped me off that I'm again not a normal person XD!

Sounds interesting.... a human ER story....

I've met some odd people in my life. One was someone who seemed cool, and she referred to herself as a "clean furry." I never really understood what that meant. She pretty much was into everything regular furries were, but instead of actually drawing or string at inappropriate things, she would only talk and draw things as close to inappropriate things as you can get without actually being there. Anyways, I've met a lot of furries who had cut themselves or tried to kill themselves before, and this woman was one of them. The funny thing was that she tried 11 times, she told me after I posted something on FB about how suicide is dumb. She really believed a good friend of hers who successfully killed herself did a good thing. I had to ask her if she was sad that her own attempts never worked out, and she replied saying that each time she tried, she wished it worked, and even now she wished it worked then, but now her life is decent enough that she doesn't feel like suicide is the best choice. Apparently for some people, suicide is conditional, and usually a good idea! It's weird, man.

That's very interesting the way the CT scanner works; I had no idea even with the ER based shows I watch like House and Scrubs. That's also interesting about MRIs.

I guess you're…lucky? Instead of continual cramps throughout the week, you get occasionally terrible ones that last up to a very long time but then are gone. Heh, I do enjoy tortilla chips, but yeah, you'll feel it in your throat if a chunk didn't get chewed well enough. And thanks, I hope I never need to feel that again either. That makes sense though that some girls would be aggravated more and more as the week goes on. I've heard all about the process inside a woman's body and how it can be most irritating, but I never heard about how it felt other than painful. I have met some people whose mood really does change during that time, and those people are also the ones who hate talking about it the most; the people who are probably affected but don't have any noticeable personality difference are just fine talking about it.

As for my accounting teacher, he had fun talking about it. I had him for two classes that semester, so I heard a little bit more from one class to the other. He just felt some weird pain in his abdomen that he just thought was an upset stomach or something. He didn't think about it too much until he decided that he couldn't be in class the whole day and went home. The pain became quite intense, and he took some pain medication and figured whatever. Then he woke up in the middle of the night in much pain and thought that a single pack of pudding would do the trick. While telling us the story, he said something really must have been wrong because he was so out of it and not thinking at all. Anyways, he passed completely out with the pudding cup in hand at the fridge. He then woke up a few hours later, didn't think to say anything to his wife, and decided he should pack a shirt and go to the hospital. Obviously, driving yourself around in that condition is a bad idea, but it seemed reasonable to him at the time. The people at University hospital instantly realized how bad things were and shoved him right into the ER to remove his appendix. The surgery is normally a quick one, as far as serious surgeries go, but while he was open, his appendix burst before they could remove it, turning the brief surgery into some 8 hour surgery while they removed the appendix and all the fluids that spilled everywhere inside him. He would have died if he made it to the hospital 20 minutes later. And yeah, sounded like a crazy time. He was only out of school for one whole day, too.

I accidentally hit Submit Comment somehow...

Anyways, I was thinking how the picture in 3D from your DS must be cool.

I noticed your poll regarding the Kimono panel! Very cool that you hosted that. How did it go? From seeing your profile here on DA, you seem like a confident and interesting person. My favorite classes in Jr. High and High School were always the crafting and art classes, and I really enjoyed my highschool and college woodworking classes. I considered going into woodworking of some sort for a degree for a while, but eventually decided on my previous idea of business and becoming an accountant. Still a ways to go, but yeah. Fantasy is also one of my favorite genres, as is sci-fi (most of my family is the same way). I have not owned any horeses, but I took care of horses for a while for service on my mission. One of the missionaries talked a lot about how he really wanted to buy a guy's clydesdales and ride them home from the mission; I'd never seen one before that time, and they are very nice animals. As I said before, that's very cool about working at the vetrenary hospital. I looked up the humane society I told you about, and it's in Murray. The cat area is Kitty City. Do you intend to be a vetrenary technician or something similar in your life, or some other career in the medical field, perhaps? I have thought the same thing about learning. As one of my mission companions pointed out, when people decide to stop learning and doing anything/retire is when they die, which indeed seems to be the case . I've thought how even after I graduate, I'd like to take a class each semester, if possible, to continue learning and keeping my mind going. That's awesome you're successfully learning Japanese. One of my friends took 3 years in high school, and learned more in one year of college Japanese class than all those 3 years. One of my friends even successfully moved to Japan after a few foreign exchange programs, and is currently engaged! He now knows Russian (his birthplace), English, and Japanese fluently, although he'd say otherwise. I had hoped when putting in my mission papers that if I went foreign speaking, I'd go to Japan. As for my language skills, I took 3 years of Spanish and got nowhere beyond getting getting decent grades, although I can read Spanish, Romaji, and other things that use American letters well enough to convince people that I really know what I'm doing .

I like that you introduce your desire to go on your mission as "Most of all about me." I can tell the church and God are very important to you, which is wonderful. May I ask how you decided to go on a mission? From how you spoke of it, it sounded like it's been a goal for more than a few months. I hope your physical difficulties will clear up soon so you can put in your papers!

This seems like a very long comment for a profile page...
I need to head off to bed, but I intend to look through your gallery and probably make a response to your journal when I have some more time.
