Incredible stuff! I wanted to ask if you ever offer critique/constructive criticism for another artist? I'd be happy to pay you for your time.Β thanks!!Β ~Jordan

just wanted to say your ability to experiment with different mediums is really quite spectacular. I've never been through such a diverse gallery. please keep doing art because it would be a damn shame if you stopped.

You must be the best SH inspired artist on DA! You really know how Ito works on his creature design and you know how to paint them just like he does
I recently posted a zodiac with SH inspired monsters and I was wondering if you would give me some feedback on it? I love constructive criticism <3 <3
It's not exactly painted in Ito-style but I hope the designs are interesting.
Btw, have you seen Twin Perfect's 'the REAL Silent Hill experience' on YouTube? What's your thought on their analysis on the entire SH franchise? I really like how they butcher all the games (post SH 4) and all their material and research are backed up by solid arguments and quotes from Team Silent and those involved in the production up til SH 4.
Your digital art is distubingly gorgeous and you're my #1 SH artist on DA!! I hope to see more

Thanks a lot! Yeah I've watched the whole TRSHE series. They're at times a bit too fanboyish in some aspects, like how they'll defend every aspect of the games like there were no flaws, but apart from that they're pretty much spot-on about the newer games. I'll leave a comment on your zodiac.

I agree with you about them defending everything about the 3 first games that they find so perfect. SH1 has awful tidious voice acting in the cut scenes.
Though I am overjoyed by the fact that they managed to get through to Konami by their youtube videos and hopefully made a stop to all the 'amateur-SH-games'.
Thank you for your reply

Your Silent Hill work really impressed me. I've been studying Ito's pencil/pen sketchy style and have applied them to my creature drawings, but have taken it one step further, and mastered it on Photoshop. I was just wondering, if you could check out my gallery (folder horror) and give me some tips on what I'm doing right, and what I need to improve, Your the closest thing to Ito on dA that I've come across, thank you
The link to my gallery is in my signature.

just add /sh3/arts_en.htm to the link, deviantart seems to revert it back to the main page.

Thanks! I'm more a fan of his paintings, so that's what I'm better at. But I've seen your drawings, what I think is that you should loosen your lines a bit. Make some basic, quick shape and motion studies before you attempt a final, rigid pose. Also, they're a bit outline-ish, so in addition to loosening up your gesture, you should also try using some shading to give more depth and contrast to the drawings. by shading, you can darken parts that are further back and need less emphasis, that way the drawings become less flat and more dynamic.
You may have seen this before, but check this page, it has a lot of his drawings: [link]

Thank you for the very truthful feedback, that's what I need to push myself and become a better artist And thanks for the link, yes, I've been to almost ever Silent Hill site on the internet, my favorite is Silent Hill Media X[link] And I'll try to loosen my line art a little bit more, even though everyone keeps telling me to tighten it up I'll take you'r advice and apply it to future drawings, Thank you

You're welcome. Oh and yeah, Fungo's website. His work's pretty good, like the Silent Hill 2 and 3 "movies" made with cutscenes, gameplay and custom music and editing.

Hey, I have a question about that Silent Hill fan-game. Whenever I click on the link; (the link is in one of your drawings, I forgot wich one), it ends up semding me to some strange website and I can't find the game anywhere. Is there another way of getting the game or a link to another site with the game in it?

Don't you ever feel limited by Masahiro Ito?

SilentIvo In reply to CaylexTimewise [2011-03-15 02:46:02 +0000 UTC]
Not as much now, I've basically stopped doing anything Digital or Silent Hill related and am focusing on traditional painting and find a style/theme.
I just gotta find time and effort to photograph them.

I can't wait to see what else you come up with

Your love and dedication to the true spirit and style of Masahiro's Silent Hill makes me so happy. Your monsters emulate him perfectly, and are what I think should have been in Homecoming (what a wretched game, ick).
Seriously, the artist for that game had no idea what they were doing. D:

Thanks! Yeah I agree. The monsters feel forced and out of place.
