# About me

I've always loved art and have enjoyed drawing and painting. Horses are my truest passion. I competed in hunter/jumper shows all through high school. Two years out of college, in May 2014, I was finally able to buy my first "forever horse," Finesse.

I graduated from Colgate University in 2012 with my B.A. in Psychology. I spent the past year working as a research assistant in a developmental psychology research lab at the University of Texas at Dallas. The primary project examined adolescent aggression and antisocial behavior. Currently, I am continuing my education in the clinical psychology doctoral program at Washington State University.

I also love books, film, good wine, and an exciting hockey game. I am an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

My classes, work schedule, and horse keep me very busy, but I try to draw and post whenever I can. I'm always looking for constructive criticism and I try my best to respond to all comments. Enjoy my art :)

Looking through your gallery, I have to admit I love your art. The way you draw is very beautiful, and every drawing tells a story... You put much love in every single work of yours, that's clearly to be seen. I'd love to see more of your art.

We got to the house last night and just got internet set up this morning! Things aren't exactly following the script we'd set, but I suppose that's how these things tend to go. The important thing is, we all made it safely, things are looking good, and even though we don't have most of the furniture, we do have chairs!

Oneindige-Kansen In reply to SilverFlameWanderer [2014-07-24 18:21:32 +0000 UTC]

Nawww. At least you have chairs! I have one in my apartment. My dad's constantly hounding me to get more, so I can properly entertain. XD

But I'm glad to hear that you arrived safely, and I promise I'll get to your journal soon.

Everything else arrived and I'm finally settling in. Today is the first day I've had that I'm not running around and/or filling out a bunch of forms and writing checks, though that picks up again tomorrow. So today is a pajama day, and I really should get back to work on drawing

You're quite welcome, sweetheart! Haha, I read your journal; wowsers, you do sound busy! And there's always the joy of a new addition to your life--I adopted a kitten about a month ago, to keep Milton company... haha. It's kind of crazy how all your time seems to be consumed by cuteness/newness.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SilverFlameWanderer In reply to Oneindige-Kansen [2014-06-17 18:31:28 +0000 UTC]

Oooh, what's kitty's name? I'd love to see pics

Tom's planning on adopting a Maine Coon kitten (or two). He wants to name it Bowser, but when I hear Coon, all I can think of is Cartman

And it is crazy--I had been riding twice a week before I got Finesse. Now I'm out there 4-5 days a week. And it's about 45 minutes to an hour to get to the barn. But it's worth it She's such a sweetie and we're starting to figure each other out, which is awesome!

Her name's L'Engle. She's just a four-month-old... so adorable. Yeah, I can upload some photos from my phone, if you like... what's really cool is to see how big she's gotten in the past month since I've adopted her. I don't notice it day-to-day, but seeing pictures of her next to Milton... wow.

Hahaha, dude, vouch for Cartman all the way! I've had an urge to rewatch those episodes lately... hm...

I'm really, really happy you two are starting to develop a strong bond! That's fantastic!

I just got your email! Goodness she's adorable!

I don't know if you read/watch Game of Thrones at all, but South Park did a fantastic 3 episode spoof for the finale last season. It was amazing! That's one of those shows that I always enjoy watching It's perfect to just chill and eat some pizza rolls

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Oneindige-Kansen In reply to SilverFlameWanderer [2014-06-19 10:32:33 +0000 UTC]

Naw, isn't she? Adopting a cat has proven to be an adventure--including the shelter "adoption counselors" at the shelter thinking an older, dominant male would be great for Milton (yeah, no...)--but now that L'Engle's come along... it's perfect!

Haha, I don't read or watch (probably because it's so popular now), but I loved South Park's spoof. (Especially Princess Kenny. The closet anime-geek in me kind of squeed.)

Speaking of series(es), I'd highly recommend Deep Space Nine. It's really quite good, and a fair bit different from other Trek (Next Gen and TOS especially).

I bought the books two years ago, but didn't read them until last summer. They really did not disappoint, but they're huge! Just so much stuff happens in each book. Each book has several POV characters, which is pretty neat. There are definitely some stories that I like better than others, but Martin has really crafted a fantastic (though often frustrating) series. It's kind of fun that no one is safe...though it does make you worry about your faves

I've heard good things about Deep Space Nine. I think my aunt really likes that series. I'll have to check it out at some point

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Oneindige-Kansen In reply to SilverFlameWanderer [2014-06-19 16:14:16 +0000 UTC]

Haha, I remember your telling me you bought them. I'm really glad you've enjoyed them! Maybe someday, when the popularity ebbs, I'll check them out. That, and I probably have to get off my David Brin kick first. XDΒ  (In his universe, no species gains sapience until another species "uplifts" them--gives it to them through genetic engineering. But humanity's patrons have abandoned them mid-uplift, so we start searching for who they were... as well as beginning to uplift otherΒ critters, like dolphins and chimps...)

Anywhoozles! Speaking of kids' shows (er, from our other conversation)--have you seen Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends? It's delightful!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SilverFlameWanderer In reply to Oneindige-Kansen [2014-06-19 16:48:10 +0000 UTC]

That sounds like a really interesting universe! I might have to check that out! Gotta finish the books on my shelf first though. Down to 10 from 27 in January (exempting Atlas Shrugged and Infinite Jest because they're SO big). And there's the Stormlight Archives that Tom love, and Kingkiller Chronicles that I've heard good things about. And there's the ever famous Wheel of Time series...so much to read, so little time!

And I have not seen that show, though I've heard of it. I'll add it to my list of stuffs to watch

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Oneindige-Kansen In reply to SilverFlameWanderer [2014-06-19 18:17:06 +0000 UTC]

Wow! You've been a reading monster! Ahhhh, I do remember WoT... I knew some people in high school who were reading them as they came out, though they admitted to that being frustrating; sure, Jordan would come out with a new book every few years, but there were so many details to remember...

So many things to watch as well as read?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SilverFlameWanderer In reply to Oneindige-Kansen [2014-06-19 19:42:32 +0000 UTC]

Well, mostly several movies. But season 7 of Doctor Who just released on Netflix, so I want to rewatch that with Tom, and season 3 of the BBC show Luther just released on Netflix too. And a few other shows have been recommended to me. I watched all of Dexter and Breaking Bad on Netflix this past winter/spring.Β

Tom really likes those long fantasy epics, like Wheel of Time. I had a friend who read them constantly in high school too. I was always interested. Since I finished Goodkind's Sword of Truth series in December, and the next GoT book probably won't be out for a couple years yet, I'd kind of like to get into another series. Stormlight and Kingkiller are more appealing, though, since there are only 2 or 3 books out in both those series so far.Β
